I have found a few books that work for tricky animals. will check for more while I am at work today."
Yay!

Please make sure you give us your justification (e.g. Quote in Text) so we can make sure it will count before you start reading for Week 3!
There is a bit of nuance to the rules -- like, no stuffed toy animals, no animal parts used to make clothes, etc.
*It has to be an actual animal, with the exact name on the list*
And yes, more than one person can read the same book if there are multiple animals from the same book. :D

Cool. I just asked. Let's see if we have any bites :)

Nobody on my F list has read it this year either.
@Jessi do you think it's worth asking in the Sin Bingo thread in Caps, or do we just go with Green Cover if/when wren reads it?

And Person 2, why are you now asking me to create an account for person 1 when YOU ARE THE ACTING SYS ADMIN.
*headdesk*

Oof! Capybara was on there but it (and 3 others) got deleted when I was mucking around with the rows. I am so glad you mentioned it! I have added those animals back :D

OMG, the cover of the next book you just added.
Too bad it’s not red or it’d be a Sin Bingo for sure, with that level of grab-ass!

Re the Dan Brown book, I believe you are thinking of Dark Age, which was approved as brown after much back and forth as to it being gold. But this one is not brown enough, I think with all the black and red bits.
All good on the rest. And hey, if Sarum only works for Sin Specification... you could always save the last chapter for Week 3 mini-challenge if there’s an animal somewhere in it! 5 or 7 points is better than 1!
ETA nevermind! You marked Sarum finished while I was typing. 🤪

The two books you just added are good to go, except that I am not sure if I would consider the Dan Brown one a brown enough cover. I saw it’s Contemporary as well, so I used that, but let’s see what others think, especially Jessi :D

Fun.
But right afterwards I will take myself out for lunch and reading :D

I would add -- don't get TOO crazy with the animal hunting, if you already have some Long Books/Sin Bingos/Color Covers planned. It'd be great to get one or two "collections" of tricky animals, but not necessarily at the expense of high Page Count points, or burning through all your color covers.
As for this week, I will finish the 2nd book I put on the spreadsheet and will try for a 3rd but no guarantees. FWIW, if I can't hit even 3 measly books this week, I'll try for 5 next week!
I have a short book that would otherwise work only for Sin Specification (1 point) but happens to have both "Hermit Crab" and "Sea Urchin" in it (either one is worth 7 points)! Score!
Just have to wait and see which of those animals to use it for, since it can only be one (i.e., cannot claim both for 14 points).

Week 3 we will have our first
Mini Challenge!!!
It is an animal scavenger hunt!
Please read all those rules carefully. Jessi and I can fill you in if you have any questions. Maybe we’ll do a sticky post.
We also have some Team Ira strategy ideas :)

Done! Goo..."
Okay. Your edition says 912 pages on GR but spreadsheet said 1015. Fixed.
Was quietly hoping the higher page count was correct but it’s all to the good either way ;)

Done! Good luck with your computer issues!
Don’t forget to check on your Kushiel’s Dart edition/page count match when you have a chance :)

I don't think there is enough blue. :/ The water is blue and maybe some of the clouds too but it's hard to tell."
To me that is one blue cover.
(Was just checking if anyone had asked about this book anywhere, cuz Joanne just finished it.)
But if other people don't think so I will leave the Sin Justification as-is. ;D
