LUST MINI CHALLENGE!!!!

This Mini-Challenge has two parts.
Part One is during Week 5
Part Two goes from Week 5 through Week 8

Part One, to make a story -- Team Ira strategy is to go for only 1 or 2 stories, continuing to use LONG books as always, and even better if they are also on the Bad Books list, as during Week 5 we are allowed to use the same books for Part One and Part 2 (double dipping points!). Books that would otherwise only fit for 1-point sin specification are also good for the story/stories, as they'd get 2 points each instead.

Part Two, "Bad Books" recommendations -- Team Ira strategy is, as usual, to go for LONG books if possible, so bear that in mind before you go crazy with the Mini Challenges. There are plenty of Long books on the list, but of course everybody has different reading preferences.
Could also be a good idea to use "short" books from this list as needed to reach our weekly Minimum Books total.

Please go to the Mini Challenge link for more details. :)

ETA: For the BAD BOOKS part -- only books started ON or AFTER 4 Nov (Week 5) can be used, so do not start any of the BAD BOOKS in advance of the current countdown!

35559 It looks like when you place the cursor in the box, the "Popular" thing pops up, but once you actually start typing it's fine?

Awesome I will put that in right now!

I pulled the "murder in the series name" and will use that for the Patterson book, but if you can still do the info on the other one that'd be great :D

35559 Does anyone who read Save the Date still have their copy handy? We need the exact "saw red" quote from Chapter 6...

Thanks!

35559 It’s been confirmed that, for the winning book of the Dec Adult BOM, if it has been read at any time during TT, it can be used for BOM points.

I am gonna vote for Ninth House (Alex Stern, #1) by Leigh Bardugo , which Ozana read last week. 😁

Okay Suzanne — will it be possible for you to *not* finish any books until you can get back online? Otherwise we won’t be able to use them!

35559 @ Rebecca, thanks for adding those 2 books!
I'm wondering, since the Tasks you assigned to them both seem like they're on the easier side, if you could put in some evidence for some of your alternates instead, respectively?:

6 Read a book where a hate crime takes place
40 Read a book with a fight in the book (upclose & personal)
67 Read a book with murder in the series name

35559 Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
I shall use this opportunity to use more of my Mozart/Requiem-themed images that otherwise may never fit!

35559 Eh, I guess I will vote for that one as well 🙂

35559 I read The Binding by Bridget Collins a few months ago, and it was okay but not great, unfortunately. I may vote for Ninth House (Alex Stern, #1) by Leigh Bardugo , especially if Ozana can still use hers.
Otherwise I will probably vote for The Library of the Unwritten (Hell's Library #1) by A.J. Hackwith .

The Charioteer by Mary Renault was actually my own nomination, but I don’t think it has any chance to win.
The others are not on my TBR, but if Verity by Colleen Hoover wins, I would most likely participate just for the points.

35559 Re reading BOMs “during the challenge” I had actually asked on the BOM poll thread if reading a book in, say, Week 3 would still allow a body to participate in the Dec BOM discussion.
Ozana just read Ninth House, for example. So we’ll see.

35559 The YA December BOM won’t be part of TT, I don’t think, since TT will be over by then.
But for the Adult poll, rereads may be an issue for plenty of people!

35559 Jessi, is it just Hump Day, or are you subtly suggesting that I invite Monkey Mask Hump Dancers to my daughter's 9th birthday party?

35559 Happy Hump Day!
(*picture one of Jessi's funny gifs* ;D)

I'm about to go eat lunch and finish The Birth of Loud. I should be done with my other 2 books by Friday, and then rather than try to squeeze in another book for this week, I will start long stuff for future weeks.
I won't have a ton of reading time for anything besides that, what with this week & weekend being full of Halloween & Birthday stuff!

This Saturday we're having a party for my daughter's 9th birthday. 16 kids, but at least only one of them was invited to sleep over after the party.
And in the meantime, dyeing my daughter's hair purple tonight for her costume (Mal from Disney's Descendants, like about a million other kids), one more Jack O' Lantern to carve, Trick Or Treat Night tomorrow... Ack, so much to do!
