CharybdisCharybdis has been spotted close to your shores and endangering ships heading for the harbor. If you manage to defeat this monster be prepared to answer "how are you still alive" every time you tell the story. The monster is interested in helping you reach your childhood dream of finding what's in Davy Jones's Locker.
To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book 800 pages or longer.
2.) Author's name (first or last) starts with one of the letters in POOL.
3.) Read a book where the MC is forced to make a hard choice (your interpretation).
4.) Read a book with "fig" in the title or text.
5.) Read a book where the characters take a boat trip (of any type).
I'm still finalizing the rules and stuff for Warships, but we need to select 10 squares from a 100-square board to hit. Think Battleship. I'm thinking of a pattern for the first round (there are 6 in total) to see if we hit anything. Once we determine if we hit anything we have to read a book with a Top Shelf (1st page of shelves) of a category assigned to that square. We won't know the category until after we call the attack.

I'm thinking:
- A10, B9, C8, D7, E6, F5, G4, H3, I2, J1
OR
- A10, B9, C8, D7, E6, F6, G7, H8, I9, J10
Suggestions? We call 10 attacks each Friday, so if we hit something we can try and square around that next time.
Pikestaff - 5 hits
Archer - 4
Sword - 3
Chariot - 2
Warrior - 1
In the captain's chat: this book Zeus by Carly Spade, qualifies for all but the page count for monster #6 above. It's got some pretty decent ratings (4.39 from 386 Ratings)
Under the Dome works, but its over 1,000 pages so depending on where they are in the book and if you WANT to read your K Book. We can probably use some for Monsters depending on what they are about so....I guess....all that said, its up to you. Who ever finishes first we can use...
South: Title starts with N-Z (In this case, we need Author's LN K)this works for us to move South. Last Name: King, Title Under
It also works for East since its starts with U and is Even Pages

And we want to go South, so Title starts with N-Z"
I'm 80% done with A Sweet Man. MC Bull is former military.
My next book is #7 in a series, but its Odd # of Pages. I do have a #6 with even pages I was going to read next week, but could move it up. I have it for another challenge so I have to get it done at some point.
Letters in the title....any chance that includes the Series Name if its on the cover? or just the actual title?
If you've got that one, I can start a book with 570 pages for one of the 3 monsters that have that page count requirement.
Found one and it matches the pages that we need. I'll start it now (its a re-read for me so I can read a bit faster). The Omega's Alpha by Ann-Katrin Byrde
370 Pages
91 Chapters
HELP: Hawke, Susie - Struck (Author Last)
EM Lindsey - Wating on Forver(Author First)
Lucas Vallois - Shiver (MC First)
Pretty Boy (Title)
Here is the signup for the Maze. The Mods are helping with TT, so it might be a bit, but they are still accepting signups.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I'd like to sign up for Easy when you get a chance. Found out about this because of TT so I understand it might be a bit. Was worried I was too late.

Thank goodness. All my up next books were in the 30s. Except for the one with 52. :)"
I was surprised it had that many. And it works great because I need that for another challenge that was just called 30 min ago. I was searching for that one when this came up.
