35559 I'd like to sign up for Easy when you get a chance. Found out about this because of TT so I understand it might be a bit. Was worried I was too late.

Thank goodness. All my up next books were in the 30s. Except for the one with 52. :)"

I was surprised it had that many. And it works great because I need that for another challenge that was just called 30 min ago. I was searching for that one when this came up.

35559 I'm starting the one I have for the Maze, but if someone finishes first that's fine. This one is less than 200 pages.

I'm trying to figure out if I like the relaxed nature because we are not really competing or if I would like it better to be in competition...

35559 Any chance we can use a different type of award? the MM group has their own "best of" for 2015. Could I use something on that?

I don't have anything on my TBR right now that qualifies for that. I have bunch to read so hopefully I can help with other tasks.

We are a big group of reserves. While we are playing, we don't qualify for everything, but this way we can participate.

From what I understand, they don't go from top to bottom on the reserve list. there are a number of things the Mods take into consideration when moving someone from the reserves to a team, so you may make it on a team or be with us the whole time.

I kinda like this way to get used to playing. I've never played before, so this laid back way to play is pretty cool.

That and The Grave Between Us are books I'm hoping to get done this summer. I have to space them with fluffy books.

I haven't read the Executive Office Series yet, but its on my list for Hunt. Its got a lot of good points for that. I just checked Hazard and Somerset on Kindle and the first book was free so I got that. If I need the others I'll let you know.

I sometimes hesitate to join challenges that are not in the MM group, just because you never know how people will react and it can be hard to discuss your books/authors because you don't read the same. Glad to see a fellow MM reader here, even if its only for part of the game!

I had been looking at those Gregory Ashe books. I'll probably put them on my TBR. If they are mystery, they will probably help for Hunt?

I read primarily MM as well. My favorite right now (cause it changes a lot) is Tal Bauer. I'm not quite sure why, but their writing is fantastic and give me all the feels.

35559 Is there a spreadsheet or something that we are filling out before the captains fill out the spreadsheet. I get that we are here for fun until some of us are able to compete, but I'm looking at the May Mini Challenge and can fill two of those already with books i'm reading this week....

Assuming this is similar to Wheel that I played last year we had a spreadsheet where we document the book, series, page count, read date and the letters that could be used for our selected word.

35559 I'm Lisa. I'm from Minnesota. I have never played before but someone in one of my other challenges mentioned this so I thought I'd try for it. I'm a co-captain, but not sure what that entails. I did wheel last year and I do a Spell challenge that is similar on the MM group. That is what I primarily read. Not much else as I like the escapism that it provides after a long day at work. My only child is 17 and is finishing her Jr year of high school and my husband is deployed half way around the world until the end of July.

35559 In another group we do a Spell Challenge (its actually based on this, but modified.) In this one, the points are given per book and capped at a specific page count.
From the Q&A for this year:
Points have been capped at 55 points for those books which are 351+ pages long.

100-125 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 5 pts
126-150 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 10 pts
151-175 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 15 pts
176-200 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 20 pts
201-225 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 25 pts
226-250 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 30 pts
251-275 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 35 pts
276-300 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 40 pts
301-325 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 45 pts
326-350 pgs . . . . . . . . . . 50 pts
351+ pgs . . . . . . . . . . 55 pts

In addition this year, you can claim 10 points per book for each book completed.

35559 OK. Final Day. Let's see what we can get done by 2 pm CST, 8 pm UK Time to allow me and the other captains to finish our sheet. Good luck!
