20. Charlotte has a very bad reaction to being returned. Do you think this is normal? Why do you think she reacted so extremely?
I'm not quite sure, Bess represented freedom to her whereas Alexandra represented being a prisoner.
21. Do you agree with Alexandra's decision to not pay Ned? Do you think she was right in doing this?
I think she was right in not paying Ned, if she had of paid him he would only have found a way to get more money out of her.
22. Alexandra seems to be very affected by the events that have happened. She seems less afraid, although maybe more reactive. She also manages to go outside for a short time. Do you think it will last? Will she improve? Why?
Hopefully she will continue to improve, she has already taken the first step which required courage for her to do so.
23. The two women come up with an interesting arrangement for Charlotte and came to understand each other better in the end. Do you think that this could have happened if Bess hadn't lied?
If Bess had of told the truth she would never have had the opportunity to get to know her daughter. In this case the end justified the means.
24. The ending had lots of happy events. Did you like it? Do you think it was realistic?
I felt the ending was very rushed and could have been improved. There was a lot of potential for a better ending.

DQs are set by various members following the guidelines below:
Guidance for DQ setters
Aim for a reasonable number of questions: 4 - 5 is typical. Please don't post too many - any more than 7 gets unwieldy!
Use consecutive numbering of the DQs for your days. So, for example, if Day One is posted as questions 1-4, Day Two should start at number 5 etc.
Don't worry too much about your questions: you aren't being tested on how clever your questions are!
Hints and tips:
- Is there a quote that jumped out at you? Use that in a question.
- What about the characters - do they generate strong feelings? No feelings? - either way, we can explore that!
- What about that plot twist?!
- Explore the writing style: is there an unusual structure being used? what's the tone of voice like? or the point of view?
Each book is split into manageable chunks with each day being allocated to a different person. If you volunteer and are chosen then you pose questions for your allocated day. If you cannot do that day then a backup from the team can step-in, only those that have volunteered as back-up in the relevant thread can do this.

15. Knowing how Alexandra's parents died and seeing her state of mind after being surprised by Dr. Mead, Eliza, and Charlotte in masks, has your perception of Alexandra changed in any way?
It certainly explains her fears. It also shows a class divide, if someone of Eliza’s/Bess’s class were to exhibit the same eccentricities she would have been committed to Bedlam
16. What do you think of Bess running away with Charlotte? Looking at her reasons do you think she is being selfish or doing what is best for Charlotte?
She is doing what she feels is right for the safety of Charlotte
17. What do you think of Lyle and his willingness to help Bess escape with her daughter? Do you think he will remain in Bess's life?
I think Lyle has grown fond of Bess and continue to be a source of support to her.
18. Was anyone surprised by Ned's theft of Eliza's money or subsequent betrayal of Bess? What kind of deal do you think he made for himself in exchange for information about Bess?
No, Ned is a bad penny and probably made a deal that probably involved writing off his debts in exchange for information about Bess.
19. Charlotte certainly went through a lot in a short time during this section. How well do you think she handled the reality of being on the run with Bess? What do you think her reaction will be to being returned to Alexandra?
Charlotte handed herself well for her age but the experience will scar her. She fears Alexandra after the mask incident and will quite likely withdraw into herself.

Going to be reading Love Bomb and the Pink Platoon which fits the list task #2.
Don't forget Dumplin' BOM begins on 16th May.
