Yeah that was sweet. It is my all time favorite movie, but thats probably because it was inspired entierly from the old black and white Universal horror movies, which I LOVE!
Yeah Brett, the Daoine Sidhe are awsome! I believe I have a book posted on the selves by Cathrine Briggs, an ilustrated encyclopidia of fairies or something. thats were I first read about them.My personal favorite are the Scandinavian elves. They are what Tolkien based his elves off of. Unfortunatly, there arent many old tales about them. They are just mentioned here and there in the old epics
Im not saying that there wasnt some ingenious work put into them, I just prefer the CGI route. The werewolves of Van Helsing were the coolest movie werewolves Ive seen so far. The werewolf in Cursed (totaly cheesy movie but I loved it) looked fake too.
Oh, by the way, I just watched for the first time Steven King's "Silver Bullet" I was impressed with that considering how old it is.
Dont really know, thats a good question. It may have been a misinterpritation of George A. Romero's classic film "Night of the Living Dead." A virus of some kind affected the BRAINS of dead people and caused them to return to life as Zombies, but they were after FLESH. Other than that I have no idea how the brain thing started.(For being a morbid guy, its kind of funny that i hated that movie)
To the wiccanfae? No, ive never come across something like that before. However, in some cases witches suposedly got their power from fae. Fariy lore extends far beyond recorded history, but when Christianity spread through Celtic lands, the fae were fit into the new religion. They were now the fallen angels who were cast out of heaven with Satan. So, those who stoped to listen to fairy music or dance in fairy rings were often viewed as Devil worhipers, or in otherwords, witches. However I doubt that that was what you were looking for.
They will probably pan out just like the movies. I mean once they make the movie they cant just change the script in the book. Unless of course they just use the same characters and not plots.Yeah I loved the first two movies, cant wait to see the third. My only problem is that the werewoves looked a bit too fake, kind of stiff.
Jerrod and Vicki Jean (despite the fact that she has not asked for the position) and Brett. If any of you have serious objections let me know.
Is he a member of this group? I went thought the members list and didnt see him. I could have missed him though.
Hey! Anyone want to do some reserection work? This group is pretty much...well entirely...un-active.
Also by Bob Curran, This book looks at more of the undead. It is very interesting, and the artwork is great as well.
Hey there,Its nice to see that this group is getting along fine without me! I felt kind of bad just creating it then leaving you all to rot.
However, my work schedule is slowing down a bit so I will probably be here a little more often.
I think that the idea of choosing a book to read then discussing it is great! Go ahead and put some suggestions up so we can decide what to start with.
Hey guys, I'm sorry I'm not on here much. I'm not on the internet much. I have however come across a great book. It is called Vampires, a field guide to creatures that stalk the night. It is a book that covers major vampire folklores from all over the world. It isn't totally accurate but it is incredibly interesting. great illustrations as well. I will post it on the book shelf.
I have just added several books by Montague Summers. I have not read any of them myself so I don't know how good they are. However, they look promising.Montague Summers has written many books on supernatural subjects, far too many for me to add here on this page. Feel free to look him up if your interested.
Thank you Hayley for adding this wonderful site. I am going to have to go back and look at it more thoroughly when i have some time on my hands.
