Funnily enough there was some mention of Vortex in my Jayne Castle book, not much but the baddie in the next book is all about Vortex. The heroine will be the sister from the one I just read.

Molly & Leona are orphans on a World where family is everything. They are lucky in that when Molly is kidnapped, Leona contacts the Griffin Investigative Service (they can see the sign from their swings). And as luck would have it one of them asks to be adopted by the Griffin women (the kids were 6.5 yrs old) and they agree.

Fast forward to now and Leona goes missing in the Underground caverns on a University digsite. In fact all the people go missing except the Navigator, who ends up with his parapsyche senses "burnt out" and admits himself to a para mental hospital. He breaks out 2 weeks later when he senses the doctors aren't doing anything for him. He then disappears.

Griffin IS once again comes to the fore and finds him in a haunted house in the middle of nowhere. Molly is determined to find her sister so she goes there with her dust bunny Newton to see if she can fix his memories.

I love these mad dust bunny stories, they are an auto buy for me.
