Similar to Val, I don't really participate in any challenges any more (other than BSB) b/c of the self-imposed pressures. I've become much more of a mood reader than I was when I first joined GR. And, I've lowered my # of books for GR's challenge from 200 to 100, which has been very easily accomplished these past several years. Any pressures I put are self-imposed and, while I sometimes read up on which books are getting the most buzz, I don't always jump to read them. I like to wait a while, sometimes years, before reading one of the "must read"s b/c I go in with my hopes too high typically.
RE: Series - well, you see the name of my group. It was chosen b/c that's mostly all I read and I've got more going than any one person would likely keep up with in a lifetime, not to mention all those I've bought, borrowed or grabbed as freebies. And, I have a very hard time resisting the new & shiny!
RE: Amz freebies - I am more particular with those I grab now than I was initially, but I still grab more than I can ever read. I have long had my freebie grabs going to my Amz Kindle cloud reader instead of my kindle b/c DAMN! that's a LOT of books. 😆
Okay, that was a lot more than I'd started out to say, sorry. Thx to all who continue to share freebies and chat and join us here for any reason, even if it's just to discuss the weather outside your window or the TV show you love. 🫶🏼
