We share many similar interests in books, but vary some too. He's a bigger fan of military sci-fi than I am and I like PNR where he'd listen, but wouldn't choose it. 😉 We found a lot we enjoyed together when RVing and started listening to audiobooks on the drives. Loved it!

Green Vampire by J.S. Kennedy
Series: MacKenzie Green #4
Qualifier: green cover & 'green' in the title/series name
Shelf #4: G - "Green" or gargoyle(s)
Read: 31 May
Rating: ★★★☆☆
My Review:

In Green Vampire, following the trauma of book 3, Mackenzie has realized that she must start taking care of herself in addition to her family. She's also beginning to accept GreenRiver as her home and not simply a temporary stopover.
Mackenzie and Lucan work well together on a Catch & Release assignment and as they do she tries to lower her shields that are keeping her bond with Lucan at bay. I like watching the development of their relationship and it's slow-going, but that's to be expected considering where they started.
I did feel like the book was longer than it needed to be. Additionally, there were some areas that would've benefited from some (or more?) editing. But, I continue to enjoy the series, the characters (new and OG) and seeing the growth in each. I'm interested to see what becomes of Tyr/Guardian and others, so I will be continuing with the series. I like how, at the end, the author notes she's working on her growth as a writer. I'm hoping that the story and editing will continue to improve as she perfects her skill.

I really like this series and all connected to it. It was offered free back in Oct 2023, but it's free again today.

Hi, Christene. Thanks for sharing your completion post. In the future, please be a bit more detailed in your review(s). What did you like or dislike about it? Will you be continuing the series? It doesn't have to be long, just a bit longer than "I liked it". Thx!
