3113 my favorite local library is in Corte Madera. They have couches. Sometimes I nap on them. There is nothing like waking up from a nap in a library. Oh holy of holy moments.

3113 aren't there Fruit stands out where you are? We have these little produce shacks out in the country here. The one here in Petaluma is called "Palace of Fruit". Heather and I crack up every time we pass it. We take turns making up alternate names for it:

Lean-to of Fruit
Geodesic Dome of Fruit
Outhouse of Fruit
Mother-in-law Unit of Fruit
Dilapidated Building of Fruit

It is anything but a palace, I assure you. But hey, the fruit there is pretty darn good.

3113 sufficient quantity, huh? ::::backs up dumptruck::::

actually, that's kind of cool, because I usually think most recipes call for too much sugar, especially pies. I like my pie a little bit tart. Go figure. ; )

3113 I think you are basically subscribing to my dad's well known statement "Pain builds character". To which I always reply, "Oh yeah? I got yer character right here".

Sometimes what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. But sometimes what doesn't kill us hangs around to make us miserable and traumatized. Personally I would gladly volunteer to not have had several things happen to me during my childhood that have shaped me as a person. Mainly because the ways in which they shape me are a hinderance to my reaching what I view as being my full potential. The human condition. Well yes. But I think it is also the human condition to try and prevent the same sorts of ills we have suffered from falling upon those who come after us. Or at least wishing better for them.

I don't think it's necessary to suffer. I just think a lot of us do.

3113 So... now is the time of year when I start thinking about sending my Xmas cards out. I send over 200 cards out every year. It's one of the things I love to do for the Solstice Festivities.

I would love to send cards to those of you who I play with here regularly. If you feel comfortable posting your mailing address here please do so. If not, and you would like to receive a holiday card from me, you can email me your mailing address at:

dakinigrl@mac.com

I promise to keep it sooper sekrit and not mail you any weird, random, SPAM brochures. Nor my left ear.

Happy Season!

3113 Ganesha is the Lord of Letters, among other things. How appropriate that he made his way here.

He is sometimes associated with a rat or mouse, how I have understood the symbolism is that the root of the word mouse is associated with the stealing of grain. Rats and mice symbolize selfishness and baser instincts. Ganesha is pictured as having mastered these baser instincts.

Another interpretation is that a rat or mouse can find it's way around obstacles easily, so Ganesha would be assisted in his mastery over obstacles this way.

3113 Jacks, you can substitute the beer for anything you like. Personally I just substituted it for a really good chicken burrito from Whole Foods. Yum.

NB... should I bring up the burlesque show I went to instead? I could describe it in detail.

XOXO
