Last week the state-run North Korean media released what they said were new photographs of Kim Jong-il in a bid to reassure the world that the leader, whose health has been the subject of much speculation, is alive and well. Within days questions were raised by British news agencies, the Times of London and the BBC, about the legitimacy of the photos, citing apparent inconsistencies within the images.

But were the photos faked?

definitely not slacking... but yesterday I spent 8 hours drawing a map of the region where the first and last portions of the story are set. I just wasn't able to keep bullshitting my way through the landscape. I needed to figure out elevations and where things have changed. Good lord... 8 hours.

But I have broken 10k. I'm somewhere around 10,500, probably more, but I wrote longhand in bed last night late and haven't typed it in yet.

I was supposed to meet someone for a write-in today at a cafe, but she had her sewage back up into her house and won't be able to make it. (gross!!)

But I just figured out last night that I only have 5k words left before I abandon this character I have been using as my narrative voice and start with the next one, in a different setting entirely. That is kind of inspiring me to knuckle down and get the last 5k of that done quickly. I think if I make a list of all the things this character needs to say before she buggers off that should provide enough structure to power on through.
