222868 I didn't read the follow up books either. Perhaps I should add those to the TBR list. Let me know if you get a chance to read them, and what you think.

222868 Lucky Dog Doug, I tried to get an ARC of Holy Sister and never heard back from the publisher. I am a fan of Mark Lawrence's writing and took a chance when the first book came out. Enjoy! I'll have to wait until April!

Demetra.... I really enjoyed what I have read of the Mrs. Pollifax series. I have to get back to those.

I finished Trail of Lightning. I tend to like the darker characters, and the MC, Maggie Hoskie is one. She a hard character, kind of self loathing, generally ostracized by the community, but because of her "clan" powers, she is the one to call to hunt down and kill the monsters. I'm still in the process of writing a review, I especially want to post to Audible, the narrator, Tanis Parenteau, did a particularly great job, especially with the Navajo language.

I read a quick, (154 pages), little alien/human book Tarjen. The twist is that the h has a baby girl. It is the 4th book in the series, but can be read as a stand alone.

I started a modern era book, A Rather Lovely Inheritance, on audio. So far it is quite funny. The MC, Penny Nichols, (yup that's her name), an American, inherits from her British great aunt, her namesake Penelope, a garage on an estate in France. Enter jealous relatives and off it goes. I've only just started but so far it is light and amusing.

Sorry, none of the links will come up on my kindle. I leave N.C. tomorrow to return home to CT. I already have weather alerts on my phone regarding my flights. On my way down last Wednesday, I had 3 delays, missed my connection, (I knew I would), and re-booked on a later flight. I got in 7 hours later than I should have, but at least I did. So wish me luck!

222868 paula... Trail of Lightning was an audible daily deal. I should have been clearer on that point. I can't emphasize enough how cool it is to hear the Navaho, (Dine), language. It hardly rolls off the tongue, but is really interesting to hear.

Monadh.. I'm so glad that Trail of Lightning doesn't fall apart. I'll check out your review.

222868 melindeeloo... I've had some trouble with my fire, I have to go to books & then my library to make my books come up on it. I wonder if there was an up date that went wonky. Does Amazon actually have a place where you can see your kindle grand total? I must admit that I am so glad that my book hoarding is inconspicuously hidden on my kindle. Nope, no visible evidence at all.
I finally finished the last 2 Charley Davidson books. I liked the grand finale.
I started another book that was a daily deal. Trail of Lightning. I love that there is an infusion of the Navaho language. This is set in an post appocaliptic New Mexico. The MC is a Navaho woman who is a "monster" hunter. It has shades of Jane Yellowrock, and Stormwalker, but not. I'm only about 1/3 in but I am intrigued and I hope it doesn't fall apart. This story has a darker, deeper feel to it.

222868 And while we are talking about books that might never be published.....

The web site Digital Spy has some interesting info about GRR Martin's Winds of Winter, and the options of Game of Thrones spin-offs that are being talked about.

222868 The Thorn of Emberlain: The Gentleman Bastard Sequence, Book Four/Expected on..............

***** August 12, 2019 *****

The Thorn of Emberlain The Thorn of Emberlain (Gentleman Bastard, #4) by Scott Lynch

I certainly hope so. I have googled this before and this is the first time that I have a "current" date. Lynch did say last summer that he had turned in the "final" edit.

ETA: Lynch also has book 5 on GR. The Ministry of Necessity

222868 Doug... I see from your A-Z challenge entry that you received an ARC of Circle of the Moon. Circle of the Moon (Soulwood, #4) by Faith Hunter Lucky you! I tried for an ARC on NetGalley and I was refused, (not uncommon in my case). I hope that you liked it. I can't wait to read it.
Did anyone else get an ARC? Are there any books on NetGalley worth trying for?

222868 I would like to say that I like the leather covers, to me they have the more tactile feel of a book. I do like it when they fold so that you can stand them up. That comes in handy on occasion.

With all of the talk of Summoned to Thirteenth Grave Summoned to Thirteenth Grave (Charley Davidson, #13) by Darynda Jones I decided that I had better catch up on the series. I finished The Trouble with Twelfth Grave. The Trouble with Twelfth Grave (Charley Davidson, #12) by Darynda Jones I will be traveling to N.C. tomorrow, so I plan on listening to the next book then.

The Shadow Reader"

Lab... This story sounds vaguely familiar, but I cannot find it in my kindle content list. I can't figure out what "shadow" book I read before Feehan's Shadow Riders. It was probably more than 10 years ago.

222868 I was looking at the Blood Bound info and there was a book for another "Shadow" series. I looked it up and I don't have that in my content lists either. I seem to recall that melindeeloo also read the book that I was referring to, or at least the first one, way back when. I do think that Feehan has put together the best series with this theme. Her sex scenes can be a bit much, so I just read them quickly or if I'm listening to the book, I jump ahead 30 seconds at a time. LOL!
I read the second short story in the Of Thrones and Crowns: An Anthology of Fantasy Standalones Of Thrones and Crowns An Anthology of Fantasy Standalones by May Sage called Fallen by Raye Wagner. The first book of the series Stolen Stolen (Magi Rising Book 1) by Raye Wagner comes out February 25th. While once again the story basically just ends, it at least ended at a point that made sense. The book will be free on KU and I am looking forward to reading it.

222868 Mindy... I also read a series with people who used the shadows, but I think that it was basically about a woman who had the ability. I don't recall anything like what you did, so it might be a third series. I happen to like the Shadow Riders series. I can't wait for the sister's turn. The next book, Shadow Warrior, is about Vittorio.

If you've never checked her blog out, she likes to make character info lists for popular series.

Thanks Shannon. I already know about the (view spoiler) in the Court of Thorns series. I will probably listen to them in the future. What did you think of the Throne of Glass series finale? Once we slogged through every possible character and every possible bad twist I did like the ending.

ETA... Which Kinsella book did you borrow? I've read some of her stand alone books but I haven't read her Shopaholic series.
