208213 I checked all the lists, and since I'm trying to read the ones I already have, I was torn between two books: The Bell Jar and I Capture the Castle. However, I heard 'The Bell Jar' is really depressing and I'm bumming hard already as it is, so I think I'm going with 'I Capture the Castle.'

208213 I read The Hour of the Star, and I enjoyed it, although the story was weird, the prose was beautiful.

I agree with you. I enjoyed the prose way more than the story itself.

208213 I finally got my library card (yay!) so I borrowed The Hour of the Star. Can't wait to get started!

208213 I read Crazy Rich Asians for this month, and I enjoyed it. I read it during my commute, and it helped me escape from my mind into the über wealth world of the book. I hate that it sort of ends on a cliffhanger but I didn't love it enough to devour the next book ASAP. I'm dying to see the movie, though!

208213 I'm going to read Sex Object for this challenge. I've never read anything by this author before so I figure I'd give it a go.

208213 I read Dear Ijeawele, or a Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions for the feb challenge. Yup, super late but I am slowly catching up. I really enjoyed this book. It's short, easy to read and just wonderful <3

208213 I saw someone recommend The Likeness but now I'm wondering if I need to read the first book or not...

Another option I'm considering is Cuckoo Song because I have it on my TBR list and I think it goes with the theme. I'm so behind on this challenge, though ;-;
208213 So... I am a very anxious person. As you can imagine I'm a little scared of jumping into this book but I'm hoping all the possible anxiety attacks will be worth it, hehe.

Here is the blurb:

In this empowering book, Gavin de Becker, the man Oprah Winfrey calls the US's leading expert on violent behaviour, shows you how to spot even subtle signs of danger - before it's too late. Shattering the myth that most violent acts are unpredictable, de Becker, whose clients include top Hollywood stars and government agencies, offers specific ways to protect yourself and those you love, including: how to act when approached by a stranger; when you should fear someone close to you; what to do if you are being stalked; how to uncover the source of anonymous threats or phone calls; the biggest mistake you can make with a threatening person; and more. Learn to spot the danger signals others miss. It might just save your life.

Anyone else tackling this book for their challenge?

208213 I read Everything, Everything for my challenge. It was super easy to read, even if the story itself really did leave me hanging. I am looking forward to the adaptation because I need some fluffiness in my life ASAP.

208213 Here is a list from Bustle (please ignore the title). It has a nice little collection (Oprah, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Lucy Hale... yes, I'm completely ignoring Lena Dunham). It helped me pick Mindy Kaling's selection (In Other Words) because I just happen to have a copy of this book and I've been dying to read it. Whoot!
208213 Juliana-- I wonder the same. Since I had a suspicion all throughout, I wonder how it would've been if I had gone in without having these doubts, lol.

sraxe-- I agree with you on the lack of closure. It felt too up in the air. Like what is Maddy going to do? Is she going to go to school? Is she moving to NY? With what money? Will her mother actually support her? So many questions.
208213 I didn't know this was going to be made into a movie! I might watch it.

I just finished it and I didn't hate it! However, like sraxe, I didn't love it either. The story is ok, not life changing or anything but I did appreciate how easy it was to read. My favorite parts were the drawings and Madeline's mini reviews. I kinda want to see it on the big screen now.

I'm reading this one, too!"

Yay! I'm not alone, hehe. I created a discussion post :)
208213 I've chosen Everything, Everything for this challenge and I really hope it doesn't suck, lol.

Here's the blurb:

My disease is as rare as it is famous. Basically, I’m allergic to the world. I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years. The only people I ever see are my mom and my nurse, Carla.

But then one day, a moving truck arrives next door. I look out my window, and I see him. He’s tall, lean and wearing all black—black T-shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a black knit cap that covers his hair completely. He catches me looking and stares at me. I stare right back. His name is Olly.

Maybe we can’t predict the future, but we can predict some things. For example, I am certainly going to fall in love with Olly. It’s almost certainly going to be a disaster.

Who else is reading it? What did you think? Did you love it? Hate it?

Oh, wow! Then I'm definitely reading The Gift of Fear: Survival Signals That Protect Us from Violence. You're the second person to tell me that this book is very important for women. Thank you so much, Lea :)

208213 I'm torn between Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking or The Gift of Fear: Survival Signals That Protect Us from Violence. Luckily, I have both of these so it's just a matter of making a decision.
208213 After checking out Buzzfeed's list, I'm going with Everything, Everything because I already have a copy.

I'm lapetite on ONTD :)
