Christine made a face. "Claim me?" she repeated dubiously, confused.

Sky hopped out of the bushes, wearing her polka dot bikini and started, seeing the other girl. Sky wondered if she thought it was weird she had just walked out of a bush. Sky and Benny did things like that sometimes, being kids of Demeter. Sky's long curly hair was in a high ponytail, cascading down her back in soft waves and her mocha skin stood out against the pale swim suit. She was wearing heart-shaped sunglasses on her forehead. "Oh, um, hey," Sky said awkwardly.
((If it's ok with Pearl, it's ok with me.))

"Okay," muttered Christine, believing him. "This is insane. So which Greek god is my dad? I'm going to assume my father is the god, since my mom is alive and well and amazing but definitely not a goddess."

((See ya))

"So I've noticed," Christine said, attempting to make a joke. "So then why are we here? What's the point if the monsters will kill us the second we step outside the borders? Are we trapped here forever?" Her chocolate colored eyes were inquiring, curious.

"So what was it you were saying about the Greek gods?" Christine asked. "And why does it concern me again? I'm sorry I keep asking, but it's just so much to process. Especially after..." she couldn't bring herself to finish the thought. For the first time, she was ready to believe what Sam told her.

For several seconds Christine just stared at the chimera, even after it had gone she stared at the spot it had stood. Then she turned to Sam. "I'm sorry," she said. "I shouldn't have done that." She sighed.

Christine glared at him, at a loss of what to do. Then she swiftly turned and walked across the border. "Goodbye, Sam," she said. "Nice knowing you. If you're right, guess I'll die." For a moment, nothing happened. Christine got nervous. She didn't really want to die, did she? No, she didn't. It was then that the chimera decided to show up again. Her foot was barely past the border. All she had to do was step back one step. But she was frozen in dread.

Christine's eyes widened and she spun around, only a few feet from the barrier. "How dare you mention Kyle!" She was nearly in hysterics. But she couldn't deny the logic of the question, no matter how she wanted to.

"Fine. Have it your way," Christine replied, and walked towards the barrier.

"Psssh, that monster isn't real," she snapped. "Drugs. Duh." She stood all the way up. "So are you coming, or not?"

"Yeah, sure, the really real Greek gods," Christine said. "I knew there was something about this place. You're on drugs! People have been lying to you and now I'm on the drugs too! We have to escape!" Not thinking about what she was doing, Christine grabbed his hand and moved to stand up, even as she felt the pain from it, which had surprisingly lessened. It must be the drugs, she concluded.

"Thanks for the drugs," Christine responded, wondering what she was about to eat. She didn't care. Kyle was dead and her mom was probably worried to death and Christine didn't care. Not that she didn't care about them, she was just exhausted from caring and from pain and from running. She bit into some of the ambrosia. It melted in her mouth and tasted just like her mom's hot chocolate. She felt better than she had in days. "Wow. What kind of drug is this?"

"Oh," Christine said. "But what I meant was, what happened? What was that...thing? It looks like a chimera, but those aren't real. And it killed--" her voice broke. "It killed Kyle. He was my best friend." Surprisingly, she didn't cry this time but that didn't stop the pain. Not the physical pain like she had been feeling, but the emotional pain from losing him. "You know what? Whatever it was that you offered me earlier, I'll eat it. At least if it's drugs I'll feel better, won't I?" She longed for something to dull the pain.

"I guess," replied Christine. "What happened?"

Then the dream changed. Christine saw her mother, looking terrified and searching for her. "Mom!" she cried. Her mother didn't see or hear her. Then the dream shifted again. This time Christine was with Sam and a girl who looked similar. Possibly his sister? They were fighting a chimera, but not the same one that had killed Kyle. Then Christine woke up.

Once again, Christine dreamed. Only this time, Kyle was the same as she'd last seen him. Dead, still wearing his favorite baseball cap, with the monster standing over him. It was part lion, part goat, and had a snake for a tail. Christine thought it was called a chimera. She choked back a sob, and the monster turned to her. She backed away, terrified. Only instead of running this time, she tripped. The chimera licked its lips, and walked over to her, now standing only inches from her. She screamed. Suddenly, Sam was there. He had the sword he'd shown her earlier, or was it a Rubik's cube? He killed the monster, and Christine was still laying there, breathing heavily. Something told her she could trust this boy, and for once she didn't argue.

Christine was surprised that he had brushed away her tear, but she tried not to show it and embarrass him. That small action made her trust him more than anything else so far. She was so confused and frightened she didn't know what to do. A fresh wave of pain coursed through her body, and she passed out again.

Christine's face paled. "New York?" she repeated. "I'm from Colorado. How in the world did I get to New York?" Another stray tear made its way down her cheek.

((Really? I love Fantastic Beasts! Idk if I can even wait that long...))
Christine blushed, surprised. She hoped Sam couldn't tell her face was red. Quickly she changed the subject. "So where are we?" she asked. "I feel like I've been on the run for days, though it can't be that far."
