Congratulations, Carole. Wonderful news.
Someone asked me for help publishing a children's book, but that is an expertise I know nothing about. You are the first person I thought of to consult. What advice would you have for a novice wanting to pursue publishing his work?

I have been out of the loop for some time and am sorry I missed out on this. Is this an annual event? When should I be on the lookout for this next year?

Just published this labor of love. Part memoir and part self-help book, of how I got on, then off, the hamster wheel and found happiness. "When was the last time you asked yourself, 'Am I happy?' "From the Hamster Wheel to Happiness in 10 Easy Steps
No. I used the different first page button to eliminate the page number on the title page and then switched the first section to roman numerals. Worked out exactly as I wanted it.
Thank you to my fellow writers here and on Facebook who helped me resolve this issue. I knew there had to be a way, but Microsoft wasn't giving me any help. Thanks again to this wonderful community!
No, when I delete the numbers from section 1 it deletes the numbers from both sections--the whole document.
For any writers using Word Online, I need help. I am struggling with page numbering. I have inserted a section break before the Introduction--where I want page numbering to start and got that to start at page number 1. But the prior section (title, dedication, TOC) is numbered 1-6. How can I eliminate page numbering in prior section? There must be a way?
Carol, I did note one day that your review of my book had been removed. But then one day, not long after, it was back. And it is still there. Thankfully.
Kudos to Kay for all her hard work on the calendar event. You did an amazing job, posting every day and gave every author/book a good promo. Such diligence and dedication. With Gratitude.

Voted.
Voted for Alex and Carole. Hope you all will return the favor, my book "The Last Frontier of the Fading West" is in section 14, Historical Fiction. Thanks for the support.
To all the veterans out there, thank you for your sacrifice. From The Last Frontier of the Fading West "The combat during the war was only a part of the horror. When soldiers came home, they were faced with new challenges, new fights to be won. When the anti-war public sentiment was strong, as it was during the Vietnam war, our brave soldiers came home to expressions of disdain and revulsion instead of the respect and honor they deserved. But perhaps the ultimate betrayal for veterans, who willingly risked their lives when their government asked, was making them fight to prove their sicknesses and disabilities were caused by the war in order to receive the free medical treatment they needed, or to be compensated. These were the worst indignities of war."
I just replied to your email, but will add here that I will promote the site and the FB page right after Thanksgiving, when people get serious about gift shopping. So awesome. Thank you Kay for all your hard work.
I haven't read the whole thread of comments here, but if I may weigh in, I think you should publish all your books under one name, whether it is your real name or a pen name. A writer has a style of writing, which readers either like or not. And if someone likes your style, they want to read your books regardless of genre. I have had several of my readers tell me specifically they like my style of writing. I believe your style is your identity as an author, not your genre.
