201765 Thanks, Carole!

Sweet, Alex. I was hoping to retweet HIS retweet so he'd get a notification, but I can't see quite how......heck, I'll just respond to it. Can't hurt.

201765 Alex, could you post the Twitter link here that he retweeted?

201765 Thank you for the well-wishes!

Wow, Carmel, that's wonderful. I'm so happy for you!

I hope Mr. Outlander actor does indeed tweet your books out, Alex. He should!

So while taking it easy, on Sunday I came across an open call for submissions to a sci-fi anthology: Black Hare Press: "Worlds" - a Dark Drabbles Anthology.

Exactly 100 words!
https://www.blackharepress.com/worlds...

I sent in my story, and just got an acceptance. Totally made my day, seeing that email this morning.

This is unpaid, but acceptance in the anthology qualifies you for their paid publications.

Submit something yourself! Deadline is May 12, but they may close early. There are also other open calls on their website.

201765 Hello! I've been not-here for far too long, and I see I have to catch up on all sorts of news and things happening to you lovely people. :)

I've been focusing my energy inward for awhile (surgery--all good!), building back my strength, _allowing_ myself the time to build back strength...now I feel I've been coming out of it. I just decided, tonight, to submit "The Squeezor is Coming!" to the Readers' Favorite International Book Awards. I believe in it and that won't change no matter the outcome. #confidence

I hope whenever your eye comes across this post, you are or will be having an excellent day.

201765 Carole P. Roman, your suggestion to try Story Monsters for an author spotlight worked! Mine just came out: https://www.storymonsters.com/book-br...

Thank you so much. I would never have thought of just asking if they'd consider doing one on me.

201765 In terms of looking at things with fresh eyes the way Alex is, yesterday I decided to turn one of my children's stories that's been in my queue to get published into a middle-grade chaptered fic instead.

I'm looking forward to seeing how it'll end up (I know you'll all understand this) as I'm expanding and shifting and letting the story burst into bloom. It's exciting even as I know it may well wind up that I change the opening and premise that I'm keeping at the moment.

201765 This is indeed all great news to start off 2019. How awesome!

Despite your back, it must feel fantastic to be writing like that.

201765 Ah! I will look for that. Thanks!

201765 Revisiting this post as I was just told that my library wasn't purchasing any more books for the year as their budget was done--I guess it's late in the year, indeed--

--when you tell people to request your book in their libraries, should you give them a form (sell sheet?) as well, or just the plain details of title and ISBN?

201765 Thanks, Alex! :)

201765 Totally random, unexpected, not even on my secret, hopeful wish list.

The Squeezor Is Coming! got on the Top 50 Most Popular Reviews on Goodreads this week. (https://www.goodreads.com/review/best...)

I am knocked over. It's thanks to Miranda Reads, who reviewed it here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

In the midst of thinking I'm not doing enough, this really helps me think that I _can_ do it, this whole writing dream. I needed that. :)

201765 My pleasure!

201765 I am copying over from this Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/groups/18364...

"I am from Pipe & Thimble Bookstore, an indie-only bookstore in Los Angeles, CA. We work on consignment, but we're looking to expand our children's book, MG section, and YA section with more diverse reads, in particular. We already offer a number of amazing children's books, but we'd love to feature more books from authors of color, different religions and cultural background, books that challenge the gender norm, books that feature the LGTBQ community, books about a varying abilities and differences including physical, mental, and learning, and more bilingual books as well.

"We are also looking for more books that talk about fantastical creatures, such as mermaids, unicorns, fairies, dragons, and elves.

"If you have a diverse book or a book featuring one or more of the fantastical creatures mentioned above and are interested in having your book in our store, please email us at pipeandthimble@gmail.com."

I wish I could say it was all my own work lol. Thanks. I'm going to see if the designer can do what Alexis mentioned about making the space station ..."

I love that cover. I want to know what's going to happen inside!!
