201765 Oh that's a good one. They wouldn't let him get away with that though. Double whammy. Knife wound will cost to get fixed plus the price of recycling the body. He'd still be benched.

or take the incoming knife wound aimed at him, that was also a cheaper option. You know me, I see the world differently. lol

201765 It could also be

The Redemption of Si-Cross 4
Si-Cross 4: Lost Souls

Redemption works because he finds a list of names headed "Redeemed" and has to figure out what it means.

201765 It's two different things, but both are valid for the storyline.

1. compensate for the faults or bad aspects of. (the main character)
2. to gain possession (is the reason why people are going missing.)

201765 Don't know about a theme. It's more of an attitude. Or as people disappear how about

Lost Souls? Which is snappier than
The Lost Souls of Si-Cross 4 or
Track's Lost Souls.
Track's Missing (feels unfinished)
Track's Redemption (makes sense when you've read it)
Redemption List

I probably like the last two but wanted something snappier rather than clever double meaning after you've read it.

201765 I am ambivalent with all of them :D I like the picture, but that's because I had nothing to do with it!

201765 They're not fabulous titles I have to admit, it's not my forte.

Just read this damn book by Amy J Hamilton. If only.

Might use this as the cover

201765 Angry cop called Track on a space station called Si-Cross 4, suspended from work for hitting a criminal and breaking his jaw therefore causing the authority to foot the bill for a new jaw which is more expensive than if Track had shot him dead. Virus wiped out or maimed many people. The afflicted go missing but no-one will do anything about it apart from Track who either has to investigate in his horrific three month suspension or take up knitting or something. I love him, the miserable bastard. (He has a pet robot dog called Banyon. He has to keep him on silent mode because the neighbours complain.

I've got:

Track's Station
Si-Cross 4
The Si-Cross 4 Conspiracy

It has to be short because it's Radish, it's the width of a phone screen. If I make it any longer the words will fall out of the sides.

201765 I agree, it's not what I would consider to be the most important thing.

Take The Cut and Run Series. (MM action/romance/erotica/however it's classified) The first book was called Cut and Run. They wrote a series with completely different titles and then just had (Cut and Run Series) after the title. There are ways...

201765 Is it worse to give a series indicator and never follow up the first book? I'm not bothered too much by it myself. Just wondering.

I tell you what I do prefer- The main theme of the book can be resolved, sure, but I like unanswered questions on more minor things. I suppose I like to wonder what the characters might get up to next even if it's a standalone book. And as I say, I like cliffhangers too so I don't mind having a tantrum about 'what if it was this or that? Or maybe this happened, but it could have been something else.' TV and film do it all the time.

201765 They're all rubbish. Although at the moment The Si-Cross 4 Conspiracy is up there, but it's not grabbing me that much.

201765 My book 1 was 86k words. Book 2 was 44k or something similar. They could have been one big book. For personal reasons I stopped book 1 at a point and split them. The question is does it matter if one is longer than the other? I've read plenty of series where the author has released books one and two and then a 1.5 novella that story-wise sits in-between the two. I'm not worried by word counts. Yes the paperbacks look a little odd side by side, but they always will because they've got that 9"x6" trim size that is not a standard paperback size in the UK. It's used to minimise print costs. If you're only producing an ebook I'd say it needs to be a viable story rather than a certain word count. And if book 2 is a novella, book 2 is a novella.

201765 I don't do Snapchat, but the FB looks good.

I've hit my usual brick wall. I cannot publish my exclusive to Radish story because I can't decide on a title. And after the title I then have to somehow get an accompanying graphic. Bleugh and ugh.
