Something good for me was that I released my 4th book yesterday!

I recently got a 1 star review for one of my books and the review said that they didn't personally connect with the characters. And you know what? I was totally cool with that. I even appreciated it. My characters and my books are not for everyone. Many people like them and that makes me happy. But some don't. That's just the way the world works. She shouldn't expect everyone to love her writing. And that's definitely not on you, Angel. I think you're probably fine and she's just pissy about her first bad review. Don't stress it!!

Oops! I t..."WTF!!! showing up at people's homes and releasing personal info!?! That's so messed up! I don't think you should be worried. She'll probably fume for a bit and then move on.

You do this long enough and you're going to get reviews that aren't the most glowing. It happens to everyone! Even Harry Potter had bad reviews. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you, Angel. I think that's ridiculous that she attacked you like that.
I think it's smart that you blocked her and I hope that's the last time you encounter something like that. Honest reviews are the name of the game and not something that should ever change.

That's the way to be Alex. Sometimes I'll read through my writing and think...I wrote that? Sometimes that's a good thing and sometimes a bad thing. But my newest that's set to come out in the fall/winter, I read through it the other day after it came back from the editor and I was like, wow, I wrote that. It felt good. I was proud.
So really, we all need to keep growing and being proud. Because at the end of the day, we're putting ourselves out there. For better or worse. It's brave and bold and most don't have the courage. So remember that!

I once had plum colored (American spelling) hair. I loved it. So tell those grays to f-off. Very excited that you picked one. I'm sure it's going to be awesome!!

Amazon is nutty with their review stuff. I have no idea why. I've had reviews taken away for absolutely no reason I can decipher. So yeah, much like Carol, I buy the books I review.

That's fantastic!!! Congrats!!

Glad to hear that Alex! You're all in my thoughts!!
Amy wrote: "Not really a good thing that happened, rather a thing I made happen. Finished writing my second book.
I stuffed a request for beta readers somewhere in the help section if anyone is interested."That is amazing. Congrats!!

Wow Alex, I somehow missed that about your mom. Hope things get better!!
Glad to hear that Carole!

Congrats Carrie!! That's awesome!!
Hang in there Amy, as Alex said, you'll find your audience. My limited one doesn't seem to buy paperbacks so I don't know if it's worth the $ investment to have them made.

Wow everyone, I don't even know where to begin. I am so sorry that you're all struggling like this. Hopefully just being able to vent your frustrations helps.
Alex, I just check on Amazon here in the states and it shows 2 of your books at 99c and 2 others free. Is that wrong? I'm happy to check out more if you need.
Amy, hang in there. You're due for something good!!
Carole, speaking as a nurse practitioner, health issues can be scary. CHF can be tricky to manage especially with diuretic/BP management. I will recommend not to check your BP more than twice a day. It can have a negative benefit on the numbers if you're anxious about it. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to PM me.

Congrats Aislinn! That's really great.
So I have a question for all of you paperback people... (maybe not the right forum??) Do you feel like it's worth it to do them? I have 2 of my books available in paperback and have only sold a few copies of each. Not sure if it's worth it.
