I have recently updated the cover of my first romance novel, twice! And while I haven't seen sales increase I have seen an increase in rank ( KU downloads) with very little promotion because I have been holed up in my editing cave preparing for the release of book 2 in a week! Eek! And I have been working on all the posts for my release blitz with xpresso and everything that is going along with this big release including the Facebook Hop Amanda and I put together! But honestly I think that the changes I made to the cover have helped so far and I am hoping they continue to show results! As for Facebook ads, I have never had a problem with my Facebook ads being approved. Granted I have only ran 2 and I will probably run one next week for the releasee hopefully I don't have a problem with it either! The only reason I could see for it not being approved is that you write erotica? Glad to hear you are getting lots of impressions! My last ad was of the pre-order for book 2 and I got a $10 coupon I saw one pre-order off of it! So, I called it a win!
Congrats! I will try to stop by but that's release day for me! That group is amazing and the perfect place to do your first takeover at! Good luck!
Giving your book away for that long is tricky because even if you do you're not going to give a lot of copies away unless you promote the heck out of it! If you are going to do a giveaway go to a blog you are friendly with (if you don't have any you really should think about making these connections! The best way I have found to make great connections with bloggers is on Facebook) offer one or two ebook copies to giveaway and then make your book 99c because even if you did get a ton of people to download your book for free the free store has no effect on your ranks in the paid store often enough ranks drop in the paid store after a free promo! I'm not saying this is law or anything like that you can totally tell me to take my two cents and shove them... well yeah! This is what I have found that works and anyone that says you don't need Facebook is lying to you or they have a personal issue with the platform as a whole! I do all of my marketing on Facebook pretty much! I make connections with bloggers in my genre by following their pages and then I look for when they need help with either takeovers or prizes for their giveaways whatever they need! I found while getting bloggers to sign up for my Facebook Hop that the bloggers that I had offered giveaway stuff to even if it was simply an ebook they were more than happy to sign up to celebrate my new release! Honestly I have probably given away more copies of my first romance novel then I have actually sold but the KU downloads and sales that I have had from this marketing strategy have kept my book just above obscurity! The best way to get your rank up though is to write more books and write them fast! I have a plan to release a book every couple months so readers don't forget about me!
Awesome news everyone! My something good is that I was approved for a thunderclap campaign for the Facebook Hop that I am cohosting with Amanda Siegrist (there is still time to host a stop btw!) within the first two hours of posting it everywhere I could think of (including here!) we already have 22% supported!!! The hop is two weeks from today on the day that my new book comes out! Super excited in case you couldn't tell lol!

I know lots of blogs that will review books post-release. Or at least they just don't say it has to be an ARC. Our books are super similar if you want to you can look at the reviews on goodreads and contact some of the bloggers who reviewed for me! A few were pre-release but a few others were more recent. Off the top of my head there is Genre Minx, Whoo Gives a hoot, Bookalicious Babes, Badass Bloggettes and TDC Book Reviews. Hope that helps!
You could create a google form like i did Here and post it on facebook. I did that one for my newest release. I have a list of facebook bloggers that I was going to send a review request for my current release if you want it. It's handwritten at the moment and you will probably have to spend sometime on each site looking at their reviews and such. I spend about an hour on each blog before I decide whether or not I am going to request a review or not. It's a long process and extremely tedious. I do a lot of facebook takeovers and have developed relationships with a few bloggers that way and I am constantly giving away copies of my book. At this point I have probably given away more copies then I have actually sold, but I have gotten some reviews that way. TDC Book Reviews does backlist reviews but you will have to ask them to review the first books in the series as well because they will want the whole story! Hope this helps. Just some things that I have experienced!
So Amanda Siegrist and I have decided to do the facebook hop! We are calling it Dangerously Beautiful Facebook Hop! If you would like to participate ypou can fill out the form HERE (I have been practicing my HTML code lol!) Come join the fun whether you want to host a fun little game or a promo post its going to be a lot of fun!If you want to come as a reader then visit the event page on facebook and we will be keeping it updated over the next month. HERE
@Aislinn Oh yeah I always send e-copies if I can get away with it! I haven't heard from Amanda yet I got this flash of brilliance at like 10pm last night lol but as soon as I know for sure what she wants to do I will most definitely let you know! I would like to do a kind of big one with lots of authors and bloggers so we shall see what happens. Our books are actually kind of similar! They both deal with veterans but mine shines a different light on PTSD and the wounds my heroes suffer from are more psychological than physical.@Carole thank you Ma'am I will have a chat with RL and Julie and see what they have to say! Thanks for the info! I'm hoping that it will bring in some new fans at least!
An author friend and I have our books releasing within a week of each other and we were trying to think of a fun way to celebrate our launches together. We both write Romantic Suspense. I had the idea to do a blog/Facebook hop and ask some of the romance blogs and Facebook pages we are friendly with to do a blog hop. So I am wondering if anyone has ever hosted or participated in a blog hop? What was your experience? Would you do it again? How did you accomplish it if you hosted it yourself? What are some of the things that you did at the blog hop? Games, Promo posts etc.
