The "used" copies and other prices are from opting for expanded distribution with Createspace. It is the same when doing expanded distribution with Ingram or anyone else. There aren't actually used books a lot of the time. Just a sales tactic to list them that way.

Yeah I'm not crazy about a book ending at 50% or 70% with lots of filler in the back. I just include an excerpt that's a page and a half long.

I don't have excerpts in my blurb but I put them in the back matter of the book as a teaser for the next book. I try to keep the blurbs as short and sweet as possible :D. Maybe a good place for an excerpt would be in the "From the Author" or "From the Back" sections on the product page. These are entered via Author Central instead of KDP.

I'm sorry for your loss, Amy. I hope the probate gets sorted soon. Situations like this can be complicated and inefficient in the U.S. too. Very difficult for grieving family members :(
Alex wrote: "Amazon has got back to me, quicker than I expected, to say they won't be re-instating my account, so nuts. I have emailed again to ask if I will be permitted to publish to them through a third part..."So sorry, Alex. That's awful :(

Carole, your Greece book is showing on Prime for me at $10.99 and also 6 used from $3.59 and 13 new at $6.50. It's so weird that it's giving you a hard time when it's supposed to be POD :(

For an affordable hardback POD, you might look into Lulu. I've heard some good reports about them.

I'm very interested, Carole :)

If you guys want to list your book on Ingram this month, you can get the setup fees waived with this coupon code: INDIEFRINGE17
It expires April 30 :).
I publish to Createspace for Amazon-only and to Ingram for everything else. If you have already opted for expanded distribution on Createspace, you will have to remove those channels. You also need your own ISBN.

Thank you, Kay! Sent you an email :)

I have a GRRR post about my recent Amazon ad campaign that will hopefully help someone from getting stuck in the same situation. I tried an ad campaign with them last year with unimpressive results. So I tried again with a different kind of ad. It says on the dashboard that metrics might take 3 days to appear. I found out that what this really means is that you can terminate an ad when you're dashboard shows you've spent only $24 but it might show 2 days later that you actually spent $49 on it :(. I didn't get any sales from the ad and spent twice as much as I thought I did. Thus, GRRR.

Holy smokes, that's the longest review I've ever seen! Sorry the first one on the republished book was a negative, Alex :( I hope the good reviews start piling up soon for you!

Have a nice break, Alexis :)

Shared to Facebook. The website looks gorgeous :) thank you to the folks behind the scenes on this one!
Alex wrote: "I've been struggling with my reading for quite a while, but Marie's Davenport House has me interested enough to actually read, which is such a relief."Thank you so much, Alex!

You guys are great! Thank you for your words of support. I will keep you updated on how the promo does. I think that since I have a 7 book series now (and the BB feature is for the first book) it will do wonders for the rest of my books too :)

Nice one, Alex! It's always encouraging to get pre-orders :)

I don't see the rhyme and reason to who they will accept and when but I figure it doesn't hurt to try every month. I'm trying for my 7th or 8th time now. Here's to hoping :)."Thank the Heavens, guess what was in my email this morning!! I'm getting a Bookbub feature!! Holy Cow!!

These are all the stories we get to tell someday when we are 50 shades famous :D

Alex, my book has been accepted a few times by ENT and declined a few times by them. I agree that it is frustrating to not be given a reason. My book was also turned down by Robin Reads a couple times. When I could get a feature with them, it went really well. I guess the moral of the story is, sometimes you just have to keep trying :D
