Hi Alex, My answer would be a combination of two covers.

My Blended Family story for Medium. I deeply apologize for any inconvenience I caused, as I've edited it at least 15 times since I published it. I didn't grow up with my blended family, so posting what I thought was a simple story to honor upcoming mother's and father's days turned painful for me. I did enter the missing paragraph (shown below) that helps the article make more sense... I hope.

"Unfortunately, I didn’t always have them in my life and I continue to mourn the years I was lost without them. I missed birthdays, holidays, vacations, and so many other family gatherings. These are memories I should have, but don’t, and it hurts so very much. It’s only been a decade since we found each other. I’m deeply grateful and proud to be an accepted and loved member of this wonderful family. I wish we didn’t live so far apart and were able to see each other more often."

Anyway, hope I haven't aggravated the crap out of anyone... yet. Thank you for allowing me to explain. Hugs, Sam
