Thank you, Carole, for once again being so generous. I've sent my information.

Excellent article, Carole. The ability to reinvent ourselves and the courage to do so is crucial in our ever-changing world. The past twenty-five years have seen me leave my full-time career to stay at home with my kids then work a series of part-time jobs including working at a big-box store, a small bead store, a bank, and a job in the transportation/logistics field that I knew absolutely nothing about and since I worked from a home office, had no one sitting next to me to answer questions. That job cost me some tears as I fumbled my way through, but I’m proud to say I wound up an expert. Now, I’m working as a substitute teacher and as an author and continue to learn every day.

It's funny, but it seems the busier I am with my day job and with other tasks snd responsibilities, the more efficient I am in my writing. When I have more time on my hands, it seems I waste more time. I definitely need a schedule and find I do best when I try to schedule time for everything, including writing.

Oh Carole, that just doesn't seem right. I've never read any comments of yours that haven't been positive and encouraging. Hopefully the situation is resolved quickly. I'm sorry for any upset it's causing you. I hope you know how much the vast majority of people with whom you interact on Goodreads appreciate all you do!

I agree that this is very disappointing. I can't see myself paying for the opportunity to give away books, especially at such high prices without anything much being provided in return.
If you're interested in letting Goodreads know your feelings on the change, there's a link to a survey waaaaay at the bottom of their lengthy explanation of the new program.

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you're able to enjoy a special day with those you love.

I just found out The Inn at Misty Lake up for a Reader's Choice Award in the romance category. I'd be very grateful for your vote. Romance is a huge category...you have to scroll quite a ways before finding The Inn at Misty Lake!
Thank you so much!

Voted for you, Kay. Good Luck!
My book, The Inn at Misty Lake, is in the Romance category. It's a huge category, but I'd appreciate any votes.

Brilliant! It's so pretty, I keep going back just to get another look. Thanks for all your hard work.

I just followed all of you :)

You all have such amazing experiences that I’m not even going to attempt to be nearly as cool. Instead, I’m going for fun…I was at Game 7 of the 1991 World Series. Now, if you’re not a sports fan (I’m a huge one) or if you’re not from Minnesota (I am) or Atlanta, this may not mean a whole lot to you, but I have to tell you, it was an incredible game.
With the exception of one game, all the games in this seven-game series were very close, three of them going to extra innings. Game 7, however, is ranked as one of the all-time best World Series games. (By people other than just me!) Scoreless after nine innings, this game, too, went to extra innings. The starting pitcher for the Minnesota Twins, Jack Morris, refusing to come out of the game, pitched a scoreless top of the tenth. Then a lead-off double by Dan Gladden, a sacrifice bunt by Chuck Knoblauch, two intentional walks to Kirby Puckett and Kent Hrbek, and finally a single by Gene Larkin that scored Gladden equaled a Twins’ 1-0 World Series victory.
Ahhh. Allow me a moment to smile and wave my Homer Hanky.
It truly was an incredible game, unbelievably tense until the last moment.
Being a sports fan from Minnesota is tough.
Championships are hard to come by: Twins World Series wins in 1987 and 1991, and more recently, a few WNBA Championships being the extent of our trophy-hoisting.
Heartache is not.
So, we tend to remember our victories fondly, and being able to say “I was there when…” is kind of a big deal here :)
Oh, and what made it even more incredible? At seven months pregnant, I never once left my seat during that extra-innings game to visit the restroom!!

Tickled, but surprised, to see pics of my book going into the bags since I didn't send you any LOL!! Must be left over from the Oscars? Thanks for including them in the Emmy bags!

This is nice. I feel like I know all of you. Even though I don't always comment, I always read posts and have learned so much. Thanks for that!

End of summer sales have been slow for me, as well. Things will pick up in the fall when people start looking for cozy, inside entertainment :)
