Thank you!
My latest from Publishous: No Vacancy, a true story of a minor travel disaster that turned out well.
A new flash fiction piece for you: Gentlemen's Agreement. I kinda think it might really need to be longer, but 250 words was the limit for the IU contest.
My wife and I are in the process of moving to a smaller home, so we're unloading everything we don't need. Unfortunately, I have rather a stack of paperback copies of original edition Ice on the Bay (like . . . probably close to 200) and a smaller number of The Fibonacci Murders (19 at last count). Because I released new editions with fancier covers, I'm not actively selling these anymore. If possible, I'd like to find some way to offer them as freebies (for just the shipping cost). Does anyone know of any good places to announce/promote something like that? Thanks!
Thanks, Carole!Got a new short story at Lit Up this morning: Bird Feeder. No angry birds in this one. ;-) I hope you enjoy it.
Here's a little flash fiction horror for you: Angry Bird. I wrote it for last Saturday's Indies Unlimited weekly contest and won the Reader's Choice with it. I didn't even ask anyone to vote for me...

That's why I searched for publishers."$36 isn't that bad, really. Very few authors (only about 7%, I think) make over $100/month there. I've been able to get up to around $70 one month, but only once. Lately my lack of new material has lowered my earnings, so that last month I only got $18. You have to keep writing to make anything at all significant there, and even then it's usually only enough for a tank of gas or so . . .
Surprise, surprise, I got a second one published today, this one for the U.S. Independence Day holiday, through Publishous: A Prayer For America
Congratulations, Erica! After a rather lengthy hiatus, my next stargazing piece for Dialogue and Discourse is up: The Summer Triangle.

Indeed, The Writing Cooperative now requires all stories to be behind the paywall because only those stories can be curated, and curation increases a story's reach.

I saw an endless list of writers there, but few publications, and no info on any parameters they follow. Hmmm...does that even sound legit to you? "What was the publication? It could be they are new or otherwise haven't published much yet, I suppose.

I've noticed more new publications popping up and am curious how payment to the writer is processed between them and Medium. If they both take a bite out of our earnings, I prefer to publish solely to Medium."
I'm not sure that publications get paid anything by Medium, but it's possible they do. As far as I know, the payment formula isn't any different for publication stories vs. non-publication stories. I guess someone could ask Medium support about that.
