Is it also possible to send a number of copies of two different books to both the Sony and Emmy slots or no?

Great, thanks! is it ok to just fill out the form now since my books are coming in from order within seven days. I've filled it out but haven't sent it yet. I don't want to lose my spot.

I have the form but I'm waiting on my books to come in which will be in within seven days. Should I just go ahead and fill out the form now? And I want to put mine in the Emmy and Sony slot if I can, but how many am I allowed to put in each of those slots?

I am happy for you too, Alex. I'm glad your journey has paid off. Aislinn I'm going through a similar thing with my books declining. I have yet to pay for promotion because like Amy lack of funds to spare. But I've done lots of promotion though, just not paid. So that my heart definitely goes out to you about the paid promos.

But its times like these that I try not to let my usual depressive mental health come in. I'm writing more books, but I still think in the back of my mind, "Does it really matter?" And somehow I know it will in the long run. I've been doing the writing and publishing thing a lot longer than you.

Even though I started in this writing and publishing thing when I was a middle schooler, which was 27 years ago. (Man, I feel old in this industry even though I'm just in my late thirties). I still know I have more miles to go. Many times I wanted to give up. But something in me no matter how deeply and utterly depressed I am won't let me quit. My dream is to live off my writing full time, too.

Hang in there, Aislinn. It will pay off, you'll see. Even if it doesn't look like it right now. It's a journey. You have all our support here! :)

Something that Tyler Perry said the other day that struck a chord with me. He said, "Whatever your intention is that's where you'll end up." You intend on making it as a writer full time. That's where you'll end up. Don't give up and you'll get there.

I tend to keep a list of names for my characters that I've gathered over the years whether by my own stretch of the imagination of what I feel what my characters' names should be or by people who I've come in contact with who have unusual or intriguing names that I'm inspired to use as I develop my character base. As far as a characters appearance I think of what features would appeal to me as a start and minimize or advance as much as I'd like. Hope that helps!

I'm so glad you're doing this again. I plan on getting in this time. Is there a deadline they need to be in. Because I'm going to need to order some copies so I can make sure to get them in on time. Thanks Carole and Brit! I'm itching to get mine into the Emmys.

Sorry to here that, Erica. I'm going through the same thing, but these are the times I get more involved with my writing and other creative projects. But I'm also helping others giving advice and sharing as much of my experience as possible in this writing world. Like right now, I'm helping my mother on her first children's books. She doesn't know anything about publishing, etc. but has been wanting to get involved in it. I have been sharing as much of my expertise and the ups and downs of it as I can. She is a retired teacher. So this is something she's always wanted to do. By the way, not to get off topic here but does anyone know of any illustrators for children's books? My mom is looking for one.
