Thanks Angel, I received your email and have replied!

Thank you!

Please read the whole post as it will explain different parts of the entry questionnaire.
Author Entries
Indie Advent Calendar entries will be accepted until September 20th.
Entries need to contain the calendar post, which can be anything to promote a single book including blurb, pictures, excerpt, interviews (author or character), links, author bio, or any other material. We promote every genre except erotica. You can see last year’s posts here if you need inspiration! http://kaymacleodbooks.com/iac2017/
Please also answer this entry questionnaire
• Would you like to donate any physical prizes to our three prize packs? (Please include photos and descriptions)
• Would you like to donate any eBooks to our daily giveaway? (Please let me know how many you can provide)
• Can you do a take over of our Facebook group, Navigating Indieworld, for a day during the event? (If you have days you cannot do, or days you would prefer, please include that information. I can’t guarantee a preferred day, but I’ll do my best.)
• Are you willing to provide a free copy of the book you have entered to our featured bloggers?
Please email me with your entry- everyone will be accepted unless there’s something really wrong with your entry. Message me for my email address if you don’t have it already :D
Prizes
Last year we gave away so much great stuff as you can see here http://kaymacleodbooks.com/indie-adve... and I’d love to make it even bigger this year.
Three physical prize packs will be given away using rafflecopter for entries. Everything we do is worldwide so please keep that in mind if you want to give paperbacks away. Don’t let that put you off though as you can usually get around high shipping fees by visiting the local site of the winner and ordering a copy from there. For example, I live in the UK, but I can log into Amazon.com to send a book to a US winner. You could also decide to give away some lighter prizes such as bookmarks or postcards. Entries will be open from 1-31st December and I will email the addresses of the winners to everyone who has pledged a prize, please send them out in a timely manner and let me know if you’re having any problems as soon as possible.
Prizes can be absolutely anything! Books, bookmarks, toys, bags, or anything else you can think of. You also don’t need to be a calendar author, if you have a business that would like to give away a product during this event then please get in touch and we will feature you as a sponsor on the Indie Advent Calendar site and during our social media promotion.
Daily eBook giveaways will be done in our Facebook group, a daily question will go up and everyone that answers will go into a random draw a week later. I will get the email address and preferred format of the prize from the winner and forward the information to everyone giving away an eBook that day.
Goes without saying but please don’t use the email addresses of the winners for anything other than giving them their prizes :)
Bloggers
This year I’m going to get bloggers involved as well as authors. I’m going to have a list of every book being featured in the calendar up on a page with a note of whether the author is happy to give away a copy to bloggers. The bloggers can look through and request any they like the look of, if they feature or review it on their site then the book will have a button saying something like “see what our bloggers are saying” on their Indie Advent Calendar post which will go to the bloggers review. If you’ve previously reviewed or featured any of the books, send me a link and I’ll include that too.
Any blogger that wants to get involved will go on our featured bloggers page and be promoted as a blogger of the day during the event. You don’t have to request or review any books to be part of this, and please remember that even if you do request a book you aren’t under any obligation to read or review it. All you have to do is get involved by helping to promote the event, either a blog post, social media announcement, giveaway, or just by telling your friends!
All types of bloggers can take part, whether you have your own site, a bookstagram account, a booktube channel, or a Goodreads blog. Everyone is welcome to join in.
Just message me to say you’re interested!
Facebook Takeovers
This year all of the Facebook side of Indie Advent Calendar will take place in the Navigating Indieworld Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/navig...
During your calendar day you are welcome to take over the group and post interactive or promotional posts such as games, questions, links, excerpts, extra giveaways etc. I’m asking in the questionnaire if you can do it so I can spread out those that have Facebook accounts across the event. You don’t have to take part in this area of the event though, it’s just a fun extra.
I think that’s everything, but if you do want more information, please just ask!

After stumbling upon an otherworldly ritual, Kitty Fairlow discovers that her own incredible hunting skills are not merely due to a lifetime of training. She’s been gifted powers from an ancient spirit, passed down by her father. She is a Constellation.
And she's not the only one.
A new generation of heroes have each inherited unique abilities to prevent the corruption of their world by the Tenebri, a race that thrives on life energy. Kitty, along with a high-born dancer and a snarky juggler, must find their allies before the Tenebri army picks them off.
With the powerful enemy emerging, can the Constellations gather in time to put an end to the threat for good, or will their foe succeed and wreak the same destruction they have unleashed on their own world?

If you guys are fantasy fans or have friends that are I'd really appreciate you spreading the word or grabbing a copy yourselves. Thank you so much!

All the spots in this event are taken now, sorry! There's a bigger event coming up for Christmas though- the Indie Advent Calendar so keep an eye out for sign ups, I'm thinking the first two weeks of September at the minute because there's a lot involved but sign ups will be here in this group and in our Facebook group too :)

Exciting news…
We’re all going on a Summer Blog-a-day!
Throughout August we’re going to be holding a new event packed with summer reading fun. Each day we’ll be visiting a different blog that has a free short story for you to read to get a taste of a new author’s work or see more from an author you already love. This is the ultimate way to find your next poolside read. We also have giveaways and other surprises too!
If you’re an author that would like to sign up as one of the Summer Blog-a-day stops, please contact Kayleigh MacLeod or Erica Graham. You can use a previously published short story, but it would be fantastic if we got an exclusive from you. The story can be a stand-alone piece, an addition to one of your novels, or about a real-life incident. Or you can post an excerpt of a published novel or WIP. You can add links to your books and social media at the end of your post, and a giveaway would be awesome but isn’t mandatory.
Bloggers, we would love some of you guys to do a post with your recommended summer reads too. Maybe 3-5 suggestions with a little bit about why you love each one, and of course you can add your own links and do a giveaway if you want!
All posts will be on your own blogs, but there will be a list up on the landing page at http://kaymacleodbooks.com/summer-blo... so people can find the daily stops and any other information about the event.
If you have any questions or want to take part please ask me or Erica!

Also we have Prakaash running a blogger feature today, and Carole with an author feature day on Thursday so we have a fantastic week ahead!

Each week we want to have a featured author, this will be like a mini takeover where we'll open the page to a single author on Thursdays, we have a template of posts you can follow if you aren't confident on planning a schedule yourself, and if you don't have a Facebook account or don't wish to post using your personal account you can send us your posts and Navigating Indieworld will post them for you.
On Tuesday we will feature a blogger/vlogger in the same way.
Wednesday will be giveaway day, we want something to give away every week as it will be a good incentive to keep readers coming back! This can be anything- ebooks, audiobooks, paperbacks, swag, we're opening this up to bloggers and businesses that want to give book/reading related merchandise away too.
If you want to be featured or do a giveaway you can say so here or get in touch with either me or Erica Graham and we'll schedule you in.
It would be awesome if you could spread the word too! Share the group with friends, get in touch with other authors and any bloggers you know to see if they want to take part. Anything that grows the group! And please get involved, we'll be having different theme days and are planning some events too, The more interaction we get the more likely it will be that new members join and feel comfortable.
Erica will be posting the new rules/schedule later today if you want to know more https://www.facebook.com/groups/17603...
Thanks!

If I'm coming up with fantasy names I try to follow a convention within a species, my sphinxes have origins in Egyptian names like Sadiki and Asenath and my rock elementals have double-barrelled names like Bander-tock.
If I'm really lost for ideas I write out the whole alphabet down down one side of a page and just come up with something random for each letter. You sometimes get something cool.

Thank you :D
