It's addictive, I think. I get an idea and put it up there. Hoping it translates to fans for the magazine.

I know. I was sheltered, and never realized what he was doing-

AND he had a glass-topped desk, lol.

I never gave him another thought. Ever. Not him or his business.
Back then, we never talked about those things- but we always knew they were going on. The casting couch can be found in every office.

Thirty-five years ago I went for an interview to get business- it was a huge travel agency that would have been a game changer for us. We were so broke and struggling. My husband dropped me off for the call- I sat in the office opposite the owner, who listened intently, then pushed himself away from the desk, his pants unzipped. He informed me what I should do to get the account.
I looked around the room and asked him, "Are you talking to me? Are you asking me to do that...to get the work?"
He nodded with a self-satisfied expression. I stood, grabbed my purse and told him exactly what he could so with his business. He told me I'd never work in the field with my attitude. I informed him, I'd eat sh** before I let anyone diminish me like that. I walked out.
I never worked with the company. He had a big voice, but I found other people to trust us enough to hire us. Maybe it took longer for us to find success, but it didn't matter. It was never about being rich or successful, it was about survival, and part of survival includes being emotionally healthy. I heard he went out of business sometime after the millennium.

Despite everything, Amy, you do sound happy. I think a busy life is a good life.I'll take being overwhelmed and needed every day of the week.

lol. One day, Ted- we'll hit a crap table together. My son got married in Vegas and right from the wedding, we took over a table- That was some crap game!!!My son used many of our stories when he wrote Pokergeist.
