I am encouraged and heartened by both my staff and associates pulling together to help us all get through these challenging times. Help is coming from the most amazing places. Every day I've been touched and surprised by the inventive ways we are finding solutions.

Yes, it's worrisome for the whole world. I hope people realize all our differences are so big and it's more important to be human than anything else.
Just got the first report of coronavirus from an associate.(I haven't spent any time with him, but I am worried for his family). It is hitting home right now.

They closed the schools on Long Island last Monday. We are all self quarantining. There are pockets of the virus surrounding our town.
I closed up all my offices to prevent the spread of the virus. No work was coming in any way- I am in the ground transportation business.
I had to lay off 80 percent of my staff, the remaining are working remotely. Everything except for the supermarket and drug stores are open in our area. A few restaurants are open for deliveries.
I have watched more movies in these past few days than I have in my entire life. I finally saw A Man for all Season, which I was too young to see in 1966!
If you want to be completely paranoid- watch Contagion.

I know your husband, your dogs and the rest of us don't feel that way, Sam.

Since everyone is affected, hopefully, they'll realize it has to be postponed and they'll redo them this summer.

Today we set up a plan to have my office work remotely. It will take a day or two, but I feel I've been proactive in protecting the people I work with. Two communities around us are reporting they have the virus now. I think my grandkid's school will be closed next week.

I think the UK is his strongest ally and there has to be a way for Americans to get in and out of Europe. I have hundreds of people traveling for assorted productions in Europe, who can't stop their work. My guess is he needs a single "port" for them to be able to transfer from- but that's only a guess. Is the UK allowing European travelers in or are they quarantining them for 14 days?

I agree, Alexis. The local state and community governments have shown a lot more respect for the crisis. I know in my area, people are on top of it. Many businesses have taken precautionary action and are light years ahead of the federal government, canceling large groups and taking the financial hits to protect their employees and their families.

We went late last night. The stores were stocked but not too crowded.

absolutely- the skin is our largest organ! I have bandaids on all of my fingers.

I feel like I’m stuck in a young adult apocalyptic novel

Same here, Carmel. I'm on day 12 after a huge event in Vegas where I met affiliates from all over the world. Fingers crossed. The travel industry is being decimated. It's a sh**show. I just got back from grocery shopping. The shelves were stocked but the store was busy.

Every hour a new case is announced followed by the closing of something.

How is everybody doing? How is the coronavirus affecting your part of the world?

No, I haven't. I have been getting good results with lauren.ireadbooktours@gmail.com. It has yielded some nice sales and a bunch of book reviews.
