FUNNY you mention the holidays, actually... I'm releasing Jack and Ethan's first Christmas together this December through NSP. It's set just before Enemies of the State ends - when Ethan is still in Iowa for those six months before he comes back to be the FG. :) So we'll get to see some of them together over the holidays. He doesn't have the duties of the first gentleman, and they're still navigating the boundaries of their relationship (it's still new!), but there are good holiday moments in the White House. Hope you enjoy!
Hahaha!! Well... we might just find out how former President Clinton will do. That would/will be interesting. He's still referred to as "Mr. President" even after office (as are all former presidents), so would it be Mrs. and Mr. President? Ethan, as an individual, enjoys the background. He started his career in the military and in the shadows. His whole life, he likes to be the strong, reliable, stalwart, man. Someone who can be counted on to get things done, but who doesn't need - or even want - the limelight or any attention. Being the first gentleman, for him, would be more akin to Michelle Obama's unconditional support of her partner, President Obama.
It would/will be interesting to see how former President Bill Clinton handles such a role!

I cried while writing this, in parts. This part, Lou, was where my husband burst into tears. :(
(Proud of you for sticking through this!!)

So this was my fav ARC reader reaction to Chap 16:
And then they said "one more chapter before I go to sleep. I'll just get 17 in real quick."
And then I got this:
"should not have read 17"
Sergey's def got that touch of dark humor. It comes across in Mikkelson's eyes, I think. I could see a few spinoffs with Sergey in the future!
Oh, Allison... that's a great pic for Sasha! I like Lars Mikkelson for Sergey. (You know, when HBO picks this series up. ;) )

LOL, no worries at all. I just didn't want you to be stewing in rage!! :) It took a lot to write this book. I had so many pages and pages of outlines and cross plots weaved together. A timeline of post-its for what happens when and where. My office looked like a tornado blew through. I got confused sometimes, lol.
I really like how you guys were able to read the book with no expectations. Now, people reading are getting the message that it's gut wrenching and a tear jerker, and I think it's prepping them a tiny bit to look for what might come. I love it when "the plot development from outer space", as one reviewer said, is a total surprise. :)
I can't wait until this thread gets active, too!

Poor Jack. :( Allison, quick clarification. (view spoiler)
And your favorite part is also my favorite part, lol. :)
