I would also strongly recommend a fb group that is absolutely awesome for all newbie sci-fi and fantasy authors:

I would also suggest joining the Review Group which sets up groups of ten authors who review 4 books each round and have 4 other authors review your book. There are some restrictions in that you have to have review copies available to offer for free to your reviewers, but it is a really good system and I can thoroughly recommend it.
