Seriously, how did I miss this? I ADORE BDB...there is no reason I shou..."Chapter 6 and possible BDB Reference:
(view spoiler)[ In regards to Master Leo, "For a moment she'd been struck by the fact that the Dom had two different colored eyes - one blue, the other green". I could be wrong but LK's a big BDB fan so as soon as I read it I was yelling Qhuinn!!! (hide spoiler)]
Beanbag wrote: "This is the book that introduced me to LK. I loved the way she integrated the suspense/mercenary/veteran genre with the tattoo shop genre."I read Sebastian Junger's book Tribe recently and thought about the guys from Hard Ink. LK wrote the Veterans with such respect and credibility. Creating their post-military community or tribe over the course of the series. She's obviously done research or has first hand experience with Veterans issues to write them with such authenticity. The realism gave the series some grit and edge! I'd love to get a Vet's opinion on how she wrote the characters!

Did anyone else pick up on a little nod to JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood in Hard to Serve? Loved it!!

I missed Melissa from Michigan, sorry and Welcome Melissa! Have you read HARD TO SERVE yet? There's a Jeremy shirt reference! Should we start a thread to suggest Jeremy shirts?

Idelle & Alisha are now Read Hard members! Woot!

In the 1,001 Dark Nights newsletter Laura Kaye recommends eating chocolate chip cookies, drinking champagne and listening to Alex Clare's "Too Close" while reading HARD TO SERVE.
You'll want to have those things ready for Chapters 3 & 4...

What's you initial reaction to Kyler and Mia in the first couple of chapters:
Chapter 1
(view spoiler)[ Bomb dropped by the IA jerk! Do you think Kyler's career is going to be over? Because of his injury or the investigation? Or will our Kyler persevere? I could see him working with the Hard Ink guys if he needed to find another career! (hide spoiler)]Chapter 2
(view spoiler)[ I think it's refreshing that a character that is a sub knows who she is and what she wants! No struggle for our Mia, she owns it! And she's a curvy girl! Like her already, how about y'all, what's you initial reaction to Mia? (hide spoiler)]

Yesterday during the BookTrib After Dark Chat we learned:
*A sister of a Raven Rider may appear in the Blasphemy series
*Ride Rough (Raven Riders #2) will be Maverick's story. It's a 2nd chance romance, the fall-out from Hard Ink will be wrapped up in an intense way and it includes the dirtiest sex scene (on a motorcycle) she's ever written!
*Raven Riders #3 will be Cora and Slider's story She said Slider may be the most tortured Hero she's ever written.
*Bound to Submit (Blasphemy #2) will be out Sept. 13, 2016. The heroine is a military vet and amputee.
*Although she's currently only contracted to do 3 books in the Blasphemy series she has 11 planned out. One story will be a bonus prequel about Master Isaac and how he and his wife got together and another will be a 2 Dom Menage.
*The three reasons she was reluctant to write Love In The Light:
1. High expectations of readers
2. Revisiting characters after 5 years
3. Dealing with Caden's serious issues in a real life scenario
*Forever In The Light a bonus short story about Caden & Makenna's wedding and wedding night will be available on her website in July.
*Laura has far more ideas for books than she'll ever be able to write! She's thinking about writing a Military Fight Club or another Paranormal series. And there's another idea that she's been sitting on for 2 years but won't talk about...
You can still watch the interview on Booktrib.com

Hi Reba, Jamie and Donna! Welcome to Read Hard!

Happy Release Day and Welcome to Meg, Carolyn, Pam and Sara!

Welcome Barb, Amelia, Lisa, Erin and Laura Kaye herself! Release Day. Kyler. Yes!!!!

Hey DeeDee and Gina! Welcome!

He's already played a Baltimore Police Detective on The Wire, so I'm picturing Dominic West as Hard To Serve's Det. Kyler Vance. May change once the book comes out but for now...
