@harpoon, lol
@molly, np, srry if it sounded harsh, and ya if u like loong conversations(lasting days) we talk, cause we're all on at different times lol. So ur on East Coast? I love it there, much better than West Coast

umm... lol
do u want us to be on 24/7? we can only respond when we r actually online.
Anyways.
Hey Molly!

lol

hey, wb. How was china? lol no internet even?

Oh, sorry. But my original point still holds, How was it started? Also it would prolly be better to say that the coincidence was that earth was able to sustain life, right? because it is no coincidence that life did not start on say the sun, and it is not coincidence that life started and is, as far as we know, limited to the only planet in the universe that can sustain life. life most definitely could not have coincidentally happened on venus, or pluto.

@brittany lol. i would actually think there is a great possibility that it will be a dwarf, as Orik's speech seems to foreshadow something of that kind.
@alexandra, however, there are no more eggs. Remember Oromis spent 100 years looking for signs of other dragons, CP has repeatedly come across this point, and everyone knows that the 3 that Galby had were the last 3. of course there is always the possibility that CP will suddenly bring in a stash of either eggs or Eldunari, but he planned basically the whole series out before he started writing, and he foreshadows practically everything else, so i would think he would give us some indication, or a little more room to hope for that, since it would absolutely vital to the development of the plot.

and @Alexandra, there was no "here" before the big bang, or before God created the universe. There was no place, so there couldn't be a coincidence of it happening "here".

I have to ask, how did it all start? I mean yeah, the "big bang" could easily have happened. The same with Evolution. However those are only hypotheses, and neither deals with the question of what actually started the process. We seriously dont expect things just to randomly happen, if a house just blows up, we look for a bomb, or other means of explosion. It is part of the scientific method, in fact it is the basis for
all science that if something happened, there is a reason for it, and it can not only be proven, but also repeated.

Galby only had 3 dragon eggs when he killed off the last of the dragonriders, and 2 have already hatched. And any surprise eggs he might have will need to be near they're rider, since as Glaedr explained they have been given to the riders and a spell cast over them that they will only hatch in the presence of their rider. I think thats somewhere in the second book.

well the only "souls" in the book
are Eldunari, so it makes sense that the Vault will contain them, but i dont think that they will find another cache of them, since Oromis had beem searching Alagaesia for a century for them. Also the dragons are unique to Alagaesia, so there wouldn't be any of them coming from overseas, though more elves might be able to come.

Hey again Alexandra!

Hey Alexandra!! Hope you enjoy the group! :D

Rofl. I love it !!! :D

hehe, it would be awesome if he actually were following this discussion, he could clear up this, and take orders :P

lol true. we are simply waiting for him to give us what we want, and giving him the plot to write for us. xD

he actually kinda foreshadows that in the dream about the man being left on a shore, while others sail away.

i dont think thats possible, i mean he just killed the last dragonrider from the old times, and has murtagh sworn to destroy the vsrden and all resistance.

hmm, well, im thinking that first, eragon says that one spell can block many, without knowing exactly the spell to block, but later arya says you need to know exactly how the spell will kill you in order to block it. I think thats what it is. I hope that clears some of what i said earlier.
... and yeah, I would hate that ending too, kinda lame after the battles with murtagh and galby killing Oromis and Glaedr

well, one should be able to then stop the spell from killing oneself, simply by placing an anti-death-by-spell ward. however, no one can block galby's death spell because they dont know how it works

I was thinking about what eragon said at the beginning of book 3, when he said: "
Even though i can devise numerous spells to perform one action, blocking those spells might require but a single counterspell. If oyu prevent the action itself from taking place, then you don't have to tailor your counterspell to address the unique properties of each individual spell."
But then, when he's talking to Arya about using Galbatorix's true name, she says that Galbatorix cast a spell that will kill anyone who uses it. shouldn't he be able to block that spell with the ward he placed on himself that prevents ppl from casting spells on him? Or just use a spell that prevents a spell from killing him?
