The Dragon Hunter And The Mage
by V.R. Cardoso
Very promising impressions from this one; doesn't pull any punches, sets the pace right and the character dynamic is good.
The Cracked Amulet
by R.B. Watkinson
Rather recently read this book and found myself well immersed, which is often difficult for me to do with fantasy; real page-turner and compelling characters.
King's Exile: Chronicles of the Dragon-Bound: Book 1
William L. Culbertson
While this one seems hit-and-miss at times, I think there's an underlying potential for it to do well, especially if some of the teething problems of a first book have been ironed out later in the series (though I haven't read those yet).
I could go on, but given how little time I've had to devote to reading, I'm interested to hear about the kind of books others have read that could be the next big thing; and even if not, it never hurts to have a few good reads on a list to pick up later. That's not to say the ones I've read aren't worth a look though! Definitely worth seeing if they're to your taste.
