Miranda Ellis: "Miri" She is the youngest daughter of Hector Ellis. Her older sisters are Daisy Craigmore and Poppy Lane. She became a thief after her mother died at the urging of her father. She has the power to create fire with a thought: though, she has only recently learned how to control it, and it has caused her problems in the past.
Benjamin Archer: Lord Benjamin Aldo Fitzwilliam Wallace Archer, third Baron Archer of Umberslade, is the son of Katorina and William Archer. He had four sisters: Rachel, Karina, Claire, and his twin sister, Elizabeth. His father died when he was twenty-six, and his mother and sisters died of influenza a few years later. He has a deformity marring his right side though he was not born with it, and very few people know the cause. After it happened, he fled London, and only came back to kill Hector Ellis, and instead he met Miranda.
Hector Ellis: The father of Poppy, Daisy, and Miranda. He grew up in the Seven Dials, and had raised himself up to a considerable amount of wealth. He allowed his oldest daughter, Poppy, to marry the poor Winston Lane. But he eventually lost his wealth and arranged for his daughter, Daisy, to marry a much older man. Then he forced Miranda to steal and then eventually married her off to Lord Archer.
Poppy Lane: The oldest daughter of Hector Ellis, and oldest sister of Daisy and Miranda. She is married to Inspector Winston Lane, and she runs a bookstore.
Daisy Craigmore: The second daughter of Hector Ellis, younger sister to Poppy Lane, and older sister to Miranda Archer. She is married to a much older man, Cyril Craigmore.
Winston Lane: Poppy's husband, is an Inspector for the police, used to run the bookstore with Poppy
Victoria Allernon: Beautiful woman who has her eye on Archer
Percival Andrew: Second Baronet of Doddington. Friend of Archer's. Married to Beatrice.
Marks: Percival's valet.
Maurus Lea: Earl of Leland.
Martin Evans: Miranda's former sparring partner and fiancé.
Alasdair George Ranulf, Earl of Rossberry: Known as Lord Rossberry.
Ian Alasdair Ranulf, Viscount Mckinnon: Lord Rossberry's eldest son.
Billy Finger: Miranda's partner from her days on the street as a pickpocket.
Dover Rye: Captained Ellis' ship that supposedly sank.
Tucker Rye: Dover's son.
Black Tom: Rough guy leader in the London alleys.
Eula: Archer's housekeeper.
