That is completely not my thing... but does sound very interesting.
You might get more looks if you change your title to read the details. We are all looking for books here, so it's good to be able to tell one thread from another.
Odds are this isn't your type of book, but The Ancient Future series by Traci Harding has a modern chick who is high level martial arts getting sucked back in time and teaching the knights how to kick ass. It's more fantasy and romance than war oriented tho.

MAYBE 'The 100' TV series. Could be completely wrong, but I kind of recall the makes saw a rough idea of a comic book, and decides to make a series. I THINK the comics were then going to follow the TV series.

Shearwater by DS Murphy has a mermanish as one of the main characters. I think it was and ok read, but it's on my shit list cause it's one of those books that just STOPS in the middle of everything. Can't remember if the author was making one of those 'chapter books' or maybe I remember something about her 'releasing the first part to allow readers to comment'... Eitherway, pissed me off the way it ended, so I haven't bother to see if she has finished it or released the next book etc.

Oh... That makes more sense!

Similar idea, but not quite the same.
The Wrong Sister by Marie Kelly
h's flighty younger sister (poor) announces she is marrying H's flighty younger brother (rich), but the h & H don't approve. The h is willing to have a chat and flys out to Greece(?) to sort it out. The H has limited details and ends up kidnapping the h instead of the sister to his private island where it just so happens that all comms and access have been cut off for a week... Until after the proposed wedding. Doesn't believe h when she tries to point out that it's her sister that they need to be talking to. He just thinks she's a gold digger trying to trick him into getting back to his brother. Drama, love and chaos ensues ;)

He's bad enough to fake her death to get away from him... but then they make up? Can you remember anymore about how that works?

Because of Him, Jessica Roe. Sorry, no links on my phone.

It's not the focus of the story, but Because of Him is the h moving in with her dad and his other family.

Lol, Elizabeth. This isn't this book, but I did read one where the chicky's parents died when she was young and she was given some kind of severely painful injections 'to save her', that were really to slow/speed/adjust her growth/maturity so that she would be able to hide in plain sight type thing. From memory, she was raised by vampires, but she had no clue who/what she or they were... Or about the supernatural world. She was part of a prophesy and was the 'human' mate of the werewolf alpha etc.

Captive series by Erica Stevens

Kirsty Moseley I think. Sorry, limited functions on my phone.

Ooo, I'm sure I've read lots of those, but the one that's jumping up and down in my brain is Nothing a Left to Lose.

Bridesmaid Lotto, bestie gets jealous and strikes out.

Gene of Isis by Traci Harding. Paranormal.
3 books. Three women. Starts with newest generation finding an old diary about gg(?) grandmother. And while she's on a journey that is actually connected to the gg-gm's, she's given part of a journal from a supa-great relation in the 1300's I think, that has a connect/impact on her life and decisions now.

Unlikely, but jic. The Summoner is about a chick who figures out she can 'summon' people to her. New cop in town somehow pulls her into a case, but I don't think the case/s are supa based.

... and the one I mentioned above was Loving the Marquess

The Haunting of a Duke

Salt Bride... the bad girls obvious, but far more demented than they realise.
There's also one I read that had a 'lord-ish' guy rush marry to ensure his heir because of a debilitating family disease that has already claimed his father and brother, but he doesn't want to sire the baby. There's a demented character in that one too, if it sounds like something you'd like, I'll go hunting.

Dean Koontz has a couple that might fit. One is about a mother getting contact from her 'dead' son after a school trip accident took out the whole class. Another is a group of people who had an event happen at a remote motel and are now gravitating back to try and figure out what had happened to them.

A Fatal Twist of Lemon
