Today there is a great article from Glamour in which President Barack Obama openly talks about feminism: http://www.glamour.com/story/glamour-...
Speaking as a Brit, I think it's great to see such a forward thinking president, please don't ruin it by voting for Trump! :P

I chose to bottle feed, partly because I hate anything touching my nipple (sorry, tmi) and partly because I wouldn't have felt comfortable doing it in public. I have seen people staring at a breastfeeding mother and it makes me feel uncomfortable for them.
I'm glad shops and cafe's etc are now welcoming breastfeeding woman, the more that people realise that it is a natural thing the better. The message should be spread as much as possible. :)

This topic is to discuss the video clips, so let's do that. Any more off topicness will be deleted.

There is nowhere more welcoming than the central hub of a person's house (the kitchen/diner). You can associate woman with kitchens all you like, but if you ask me that says more about the type of person that YOU are.
Good day to you.

Here are all the clips from Emma’s recent interview with Caitlin Moran, exclusively for our club!

Please let us know what you think in the thread below...
Thank you,

My friend is the biggest Marvel fan you will ever meet, she could tell you anything and everything about all of the characters in the Marvel Universe. In most cases she has received big respect from guys in comic book shops and chats geek with them all the time. But every now and then you get one who couldn't possibly talk to a GIRL about it. Dun DUN DUUUUUUUUUUNN.

How Marjane went through so much at such a young age is beyond me, she is so strong and I think a lot of that is down to her parents (who sound awesome), perhaps in particular her father.

Many thanks for your suggestion, I have copied this response from Katelyn below to help you with book suggestions.
You can suggest books for the group by following the directions here: How To Suggest a Book
Additionally, you can suggest it in relevant book lists in the book suggestion folder. Those lists are based on subject matter, genre, etc. You can start your own list if you don't see one for a particular subject or genre already, but please check first, as we will remove duplicate threads.
If Emma uses polling to decide book choices in the future, our suggested books list will be useful for her to pick the options from.
In order to vote for the July/August choice, You must click the book of your choice on the poll HERE. Votes cast by posting on this thread, or by suggesting books on this thread, won't be counted as official votes.

One of the comments in this article makes a very good point, there are tribes in Africa where woman walk around bare chested the whole time and nobody says anything because it is completely normal.
Of course 'we' only see it as 'wrong' because of what society has dictated to us for many years.

Someone may be able to help you when they have finished with their copy.

Take it from a mother of teenagers, the young years pass quickly! Those years are hard, and the kids wear you out, but the most important thing is to love them, especially whe..."
Thanks, those are very wise words!

I respect people who decide not to have children, it's entirely up to them. I have a few friends who do not want children and obviously I do get a little jealous sometimes as they can go out and do the things they want to do when they want to do them. I would never go back though, I find having children very rewarding and you will never know a truer love than the love you have for your kids (well, in my opinion anyway) :)

You may have noticed a new video featuring Caitlin Moran at the top of the OSS page, Emma wanted to share this with the group in preparation for our April book: How to be a Woman.
If you didn't see the video, you can link through to it here: https://www.goodreads.com/videos/1006...
Thanks,

Please join me in welcoming Hannah to the moderating team, she will be helping us out in keeping everything looking beautiful and sparkly and to help with any queries, ideas etc that you may have.

The fact that she is doing a really great thing with her "Let Girls Learn" initiative seems to be swallowed up by the media frenzy surrounding the elections. Perhaps it is different in the USA and is more publicised - but I learnt today that she has put a host of artists (all of whom worked for free) together to release Diane Warren's "This is for the Girls" to raise money (and publicity) to ensure adolescent girls get the education they deserve.

I for one am pleased that someone in a place of high power is trying to do some GOOD in the world and trying to help. I only wish the spotlight would shine brighter on these sorts of news stories, and less so on that orange faced, whispy birds nest haired racist (and sexist) idiot with tiny hands.
