Leslie,
Would you mind telling us your 8 week pacing of A Clash of Kings?

Wondering what will happen to Tyrion and Shae since Tywin gave the order to not take her to court, yet Tyrion is taking her anyway. How is Tyrion going to pull this off or is she going to be executed?

Forgot to mention this earlier. It is amazing how Dany is only twelve in the book, yet as you read her chapters her maturity is blatant and the character seems to be on her 30s and not a young girl not even in her teens. Onward to the next chapter. :-)

Okay, so what is up with all of these dreams now. We just finished with the Stark boys having odd dreams and now this unique one that Danny has. Make me wonder if their (Stark boys and Dany) story line will join at some point. This will be a powerful transition for Dany. I can sense it!!! That dream though was something else!!! Sounds like the baby had a form of harlequin ichthyosis. Another sad situation created by Martin!!! Martin is truly a GENIUS!!!

A friend of mine also said that it was a hard book to get through. She stated it was one battle after another throughout the whole book. Still looking forward to it though!!!!

Going to try to post the full post again, so here we go. Up until this point in the book really couldn't stand the character of Sansa. However now I feel bad for her. The guilt that Sansa has to live with has to be overwhelming. She basically turned her back on the Stark family since she was being influenced by her infatuation by her over Joffery with both his looks (gag) and the power that comes with being queen of the Seven Kingdoms. She was a traitor for infatuation and power. Now she is reduced to nothing with the psychological manipulation of Joffery. Her naïvety is reducing, but at what cost!! So sad that she contemplates suicide. I was shocked with the death of Septa Mordane!!! Here are two questions I have:
1.) What type of horrors are in store for Sansa from Joffery and his henchmen?
2.) Can "The Hound" be trusted with the protection of both Stark girls?

Weird that it didn't post everything. Oh well. Will double check next time before hitting post.

Know I had a long post there earlier. LOL. Just wondering if the whole post showed for everyone. It is cut short when I see it and can't figure out how to show the whole post.

Looking forward to it!!!!

Poor Arya. Hoping that she can work through her grief and I will be interested to see what happens to her character later on in the series!!!

What is up with the three eyed Raven? Will be interesting to find out!!!

Hi everyone.
I am Brendan and yes, like all of you, I am a fan of the series and the books. I just joined this group the other day. I am five chapters away from finishing the first book in the series (A Game of Thrones). As far as favorite characters go I would have to say Tyrion, Arya, and Daenerys. Least favorite character so far is Bran. I feel like the plot line just drags with his chapters. Also, at first I couldn't stand Sansa, but with the last Sansa chapter in the book I feel sorry for her. Just out of curiosity, when will you all be starting book two (Clash of Kings)? Looking forward to reading and analyzing the series with everyone!!!
Brendan
