174195 That's a long connection thread, Kendra lol. I love it.
174195 April showers bring May flowers, and we are dancing in the rain this week!

There are many different ways you could go with this prompt: this could be a book involving cats, dogs, or torrential rain, or it could relate to the whole phrase - such as a book about idioms, a book with the concept in the title or cover, or a creative interpretation.

What are you reading for this prompt, and how does it fit the prompt?
174195 We love an excuse to read the backlist! Take a dive into your To Read list and find a book that has been collecting dust. The longer it's been on your TBR, the better!

What are you reading for this prompt, and how long has it been on your TBR?
174195 I just checked out Big Swiss from the library! Since I'm planning on reading in order, I'll likely pick a book from the 2024 list, so no planning for me for this one, just yet.

174195 That's impressive, Bec! I have trouble reading ARCs unless they are books I'm already interested in reading. Getting into NetGalley might be my retirement hobby, but right now I don't have enough time to read the books I want to read AND new releases I haven't heard of.

174195 The only book I own that fits this prompt is 56 Days, which I got in a Christmas swap last year so it's about time I read it.

174195 10, 9, 8, 7, 6...

We are counting all the ways we love reading this week, and we figure there are about a million!

This week, we are reading a book with a number in the title!

174195 For those of us who are planners, this prompt is to ease the pain of having 17 possible books for one prompt... then only reading one book of the 17. You can choose a prompt ahead of time and decide what you will read, or you can find a book you've been dying to slot in somewhere that may fit other prompts on the list.

No lists for this one!

What are you reading for this prompt, and which prompt was your favorite?
174195 We love recommendations from friends, and at ATY, we are all friends here! This week, you are scouring the Best of the Month lists to find a book that may intrigue you. You can use this as an opportunity to read a popular book you've had on the back burner, or a chance to find something new and wonderful for you!

You can find all of our Best of the Month lists HERE.

What are you reading for this prompt? How did you decide?

174195 Both will be other, I think, since neither require it to be a major part of the plot.
Oct 11, 2023 11:45AM

174195 I also have Migrations on my list, but there are harder prompts I have it slotted for (wild animal or air/sea, but probably wild animal).

174195 Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone was so so good. Hilarious but also a murder mystery. I enjoyed it so much. (It would also, in my opinion, count as a cozy mystery)

174195 I appreciate the breakdown, LeahS. I have had We Need New Names on my TBR for a while, but I hadn't looked into her background.

174195 Last week, we read a book with only one word in the title. But sometimes, you just have more to say! This week, we are finding books with extra long titles - 6 words or more.

You can count subtitles if you'd like, or you can go for the extra challenge of only using the primary title!

174195 Beyonce. Madonna. Selena.

Sometimes, all you need is one word to get the point across, and this week, you are looking for a book that does just that. Toss out "A", "An", and "The" - this book needs no extra words!

Note: For books with titles other than English, you should leave off any articles as well.

174195 Chrissy, did you do that? If so, THANK YOU. I was working on it and got pulled away from my computer.
174195 dalex, Take My Hand is phenomenal. Such an impactful and infuriating book.

I think I'll wait until December to decide what my favorite prompt was that I want to repeat, but I have a feeling it will be this one lol.

@ Emily...Can we get a tab for it on the 2024 spreadsheet?"

I'm hesitant to add more tabs, but the 2024 Rejects tab will be cleared out in January and used for tracking reject reads, so you could add your books there.

174195 I love this idea! I can't commit to it (I'm already nervous about committing to the main challenge in order), but I love the thought!

174195 I love the color scheme of your books read, LeahS! Feels very fall!
