174195 Breanne, it looks like Linda seconded it right before you. Feel free to suggest or second something else.

174195 Hey y'all, please keep this thread limited to suggestions and ideas for the voting thread! It's a bit difficult to track what is a suggestion/second with people talking on the side. Thank you!

174195 It's time for our next round of suggestions!

Just a reminder that you can find a full list of prompts already on the 2025 list in the third post on this thread.

How Suggestions Work:
- The topics for the 2025 reading challenge list will be determined by a series of mini-polls, the number of which depends on the number of prompts winning in each mini-polls
- Suggestions for each poll will be opened until 15 suggestions are received and “seconded”.
- The voting thread will open the day after suggestions go live. You can find the schedule here.

Rules:
- Each member can only suggest OR second one prompt
- Suggestions close after 15 total seconded prompts

When suggesting and seconding, feel free to provide examples and descriptions that may help other members understand the prompt better. These descriptions and examples will be copied over to the voting thread for further discussion.

As always, please express any and all feedback (respectfully, of course), either here or in The Wild Discussion.

174195 In the past, we’ve done a poll that only had Close Call prompts. Last year, however, most of the Close Calls eventually made it in, so we didn’t have a need for a poll for them.

174195 Hi all! As a reminder, this thread is for mod announcements only! I recommend you follow this thread to get a notification every time we open a new poll, but please keep all questions and comments to the other threads in this folder!

174195 The close call was SOOOOOOO close. Like... one upvote would have made the difference. So I hope it will get resubmitted in a later round.

174195 I read two good books with purple covers last month!

Skye Falling by Mia McKenzie and Margo's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe

(Margo's cover looks pink on my computer, it's definitely purple in real life.)

174195 I’m working for my husband’s firm, a bit from home, but mostly from the office. Problem is that my daughter is still in her daycare that was closer to my old job, so my commute to drop her off is longer. She switches August 1st so things will ease up!

174195 Starting a new job mid-June has thrown my entire existence off track lol. Still trying to find balance and a routine, and my commute has gotten much longer, which is a blessing (more audiobook time) and a curse (less print book time).

I'm currently one book behind on ATY, but I only have 23% to go for my current read for the Sea prompt. The bad news is that nearly all of my ATY books for July are books that I'd like to (or must) read in print.

My book club has our annual beach trip at the end of the month and I'm hoping to just sit and read for four days straight. It will be glorious.

Here's my plan:

There Are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak (a book related to sea) - currently 77% through
The God of the Woods by Liz Moore (a book related to land)
Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy (a book related to air)
The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty (a book set near the Mediterranean)
The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty (side read)
The Empire of Gold by S.A. Chakraborty (going for the gold)

All of those are in print - the first three because they are either ARCs, new releases, or I just want to read in print, and the last three because my library doesn't have the audio.

I'm also currently listening to Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver as a (very long) side read.

Hahaha thank you! That's the vibes I needed this week.

174195 I just got an ARC of Blake Crouch’s new book that’s coming out in October and I am THRILLED. He’s a must-read for me.
