174195 We've all done it. We find a new author we love, read a five star book, and then... never pick up the author again. Maybe it's a new series that we start before it's finished, and we haven't quite gotten around to reading that last book. Maybe it's a new book by a favorite author that you pre-ordered but it's been sitting on your shelf for months (just me? no?).

This week, we are using a prompt as an excuse to finally pick up that author again.

What are you reading for this prompt, and how does it fit?

174195 The final list order for our 2025 ATY Reading Challenge has been posted!

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Feel free to make a plan for your reading in this folder: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

And keep an eye out for the weekly topics being posted in this folder: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

174195 Welcome!

It's best if you create your own plan (using "create a new topic" and choosing "2025 Plans" for the folder) so you can keep track of your progress and share your choices with the other members. If you need help finding ideas, you can have a look at the weekly topics, which will be posted shortly.

You can read in order or jump around, but keep this order in your plan, since this makes it easier for others to find a prompt and gain inspiration.

If you can't complete the challenge, it's not a problem. If one topic is too far out of your comfort zone or too difficult to fulfill, you can use a "Wild Card" and read something else for this week (reader's choice or past suggestions).

This listed is loosely sorted by months.

2025 ANNIVERSARY LIST PROMPT

With the only prompt topping three digits in net votes, and having the highest upvotes of the voting season...

A book involving a "group" with at least 4 members that's not a family
Oct 15, 2024 03:48PM

174195 No, we won't have any more polls after this one. The one that didn't make it will be listed as a Close Call for the poll!

MJ, don't wake up too early haha! I have a gala tonight with my husband so I definitely won't be posting at 5:30 in the morning! It will likely be when I get to work around 8 or 8:30 (just to set expectations lol)
Oct 15, 2024 01:52PM

174195 If we had room for three, we would definitely have all three getting in!
174195 The list-making process for ATY can be a heartbreaking one... when we set our sights on a prompt that doesn't make it, it is so tough! Luckily, we have this prompt to fill the gap. Take a look at our list of prompts that didn't quite make the cut, and choose your favorite to place here!

The Prompts That Didn't Make the Cut: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
ATY List: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/2...

What are you reading for this prompt, and how does it fit?
Oct 15, 2024 01:38PM

174195 If it weren't a literal tie right now, I absolutely would close it early, I promise. I can't stop myself from posting weekly threads because I'm itching to be done lol
Oct 15, 2024 11:29AM

174195 As we get to the sunset of our challenge, let's look for books that give us sunset vibes on the cover.

Swept Away by Beth O'Leary The Last Murder at the End of the World by Stuart Turton Funny Story by Emily Henry The Reformatory by Tananarive Due A Scatter of Light by Malinda Lo The Forevers by Chris Whitaker Ghosts of Waikiki by Jennifer K. What are you reading for this prompt, and how does it fit?
Oct 15, 2024 11:25AM

174195 It's still pretty close between two prompts... otherwise I definitely would! The good news is that both prompts will slot in the spot I have left open so I've got the whole list order ready to go, as soon as we finalize that last prompt.
Oct 15, 2024 09:36AM

174195 We typically direct people to the monthly threads for that kinda thing! We've tried just having one thread that stayed up year round but it never got the traction that Wild Discussion did, and we got more chatting with the monthly threads (though they also tend to die during voting season).
[2025] Listopias (12 new)
Oct 15, 2024 08:06AM

174195 Yes, what Jillian said is correct. And it's likely that people are adding those notes as a way to remember which ones they want to read/why they want to read them to distinguish them from helping Jackie with the book adding.

174195 Thanks for explaining, Jillian.

The final list order with the remaining two prompts will be posted on Wednesday! I just got a head start on organizing the group to get ready for the launch.
