174195 It’s definitely something we’re going to have to play by ear. It’s been unusual to get 4 winners this year so it seems unlikely we’d get extra. The only thing that comes to mind would be to give people 4 votes total instead of 8.

174195 I’m so glad that others felt the same way about the start of the book! I’ve started it about 3 other times but I pushed myself to keep reading this time. I started to really get into with Bev’s phone call and now it’s really picking up.

174195 I hope everyone has been getting a great start on a weekend of reading. If you haven’t yet, that’s okay, we have over two more days still to go!

This time around, we’re going to have three ongoing games. I know we all love to read but sometimes you need to take a short break. In the spirit of fun self-care, take a break whenever you need to and stop in to add to the games. Even you aren’t even participating in the event!

174195 To play Book Dominos, your answer (a book title) must generate two numbers between 1 and 12. One number must match the previous book. The second number you will leave for the next participant.

Ways to get a number from a book:
- Actual number in the title (I Am Number Four)
- How many pages it has (use the last number in the page count)
- Trilogy or series number (All the Little Liars, Aurora Teagarden #9)
- Found on the cover (Roman numerals are ok)
- Number of words in the title (Dash & Lily's Book of Dares, 6)
- Year the book was first published (use the last one or two numbers, 1995 or 2012)
- For anthologies or such, how many stories are in the book, (On the Prowl, 4 stories)
- The year it received an award (The View from Saturday, Newbery Award 1997)

Example:
the number the previous player left was 8
I say Iron Kissed (published in 2008)
the number to match is 3, because Iron Kissed is the 3rd in a series

Spell it Out

For this one, you get to go on a bit of a scavenger hunt. Each day, I will be post 5 new prompts.

Go to your TBR and try to find books that match the prompt. The only catch is that they have to be in the first two pages of your list (sorted however you like).

For every prompt you match, you will earn one letter. Once you’ve earned all the letters (12), unscramble it to spell a book title and win the game.

Note: each prompt can only be fulfilled once

Day 1
- A book with an animal on the cover
- An author’s name written in purple
- A book with a text-only cover
- A book that has won the Goodreads Choice Awards
- A book that has been turned into a tv show or movie

Day 2:
- A book with a one-word title
- The second book in a series
- A book you don’t recognize/remember
- A book with water on the cover
- A book with an average rating about 4.5

Day 3:
- A book with less than 100 ratings
- A book you added this year
- A book with the author’s name larger than the title
- A book with a monotone cover (one color plus black/white)
- A book with a rating under 3.5

Wow, I had no idea a third book had been published! I really need to get it together and read book 2 still.

174195 A book recommended by an influential person or group (e.g. celebrity/public figure, YouTuber/Blogger, family member/friend, library, etc.)

Influential can be based on the individual member’s definition and what’s considered influential to them.
174195 I’ll second 11/22/63. So very good.

I also LOVED The Great Alone. There’s a ton of great options but that one stood out as one of my favorites. I couldn’t put it down, which is great for a chunky one :)

174195 Make sure you’re all also using the ‘vote’ feature on the Listopias. Then the most well-liked ones will be at the top :)
