Damien seemed to pale at the news just as much as Variel if not more. what was he supposed to do now. At least with Salem he could cut his ties to him and find a loophole. But now, he had a child on the way by a Familiar...not only was the birth not preordained by the Seer, but to bare a child out of wedlock was a heinous crime to the Coven. For mortals it was frowned upon, but for Witches it was a crime like marrying a mortal. Variel was not mortal anymore, but she was certainly a Familiar the slaves of the Coven no law has ever had to be made against it because it never happened. Most used them for sexual pleasures, but beyond that nothing else. Damien was in shock..."Kali, you have to curse the birth of our child. It can't take place. If we are both willing to accept your curse against the child's birth then it won't be born by binding magic. Curse it now..we are not married and she is a Familiar surely there are laws against such a thing you have to tell us that our marriage and child are both cursed in the name of the Seer in front of the High Priestess. It has to be done!" He said frantically looking for any other way. "Our laws are binding and strict you have to do it." He was trying not to beg her and it was becoming harder by the second.
Salem went wide eyed, "You will damn it's soul born or unborn, Damien! If you desire the birth to be cursed and accept it as a curse then the child won't be born. Where do you think unborn children cursed go? They belong to him if they are announced to belong to no one!" Salem was furious he would say such a thing about an unborn child. No matter who he was looking out for he was going to fail one way or another. He should have accepted that when he chose to become a Wraith. "I'm not staying here for this." Salem stood abruptly and when Damien went to use his pwoers on him to make him stop he realized quickly that it was of no use. He could not ever use his powers on his little brother. He sat back down, "I'm sorry...it's the only way I know." Salem rolled his eyes and the door could be heard slamming behind him.

I'm going to guess this is where she will recognize Ash as one of the guys who killed her man, right? given his time working with Wraith's.

((sorry I passed out last night.))
Damien sat on the couch and Salem sat at the other end. He still couldn't stand to be close to him after knowing what e knew now. Damien shrugged, "Alright...what do you have to tell us?" He asked coldly. he was ina hurry and had no patience for some antics of a Seer. Damien was beginning to question if this was good news or bad news. Salem was twiddling his thumbs and bouncing his left leg on his ankle. Both boys were nervous and all dAmien could think to do was set up a protection spell on the house long enough to obscure Satan's vision.

Okay gang more and more of you are becoming active members who I appreciate very much, but there is only one spot for a Mod. I only need one other person who will be able to monitor other rp's and topics while I tend to characters and the rest of the group.

Damien nodded, "We will visit Kali only because she knows about me now. I don't guess we have a choice to ensure that Salem is okay." He took Vari's phone form her and looked at the address and without warning made a sharp U-turn flooring it to the Seer's home. Zayn was nervous, what could she possibly know or even discover over night. He looked back at Salem through the rear view mirror. "Hang in there man..I know you are mad and things can be explained more later, but your very soul is in danger and unless you want to experience hell all over you need to comply."
Salem nodded in understanding..."I just wish we had more time to understand instead of jumping into action. I'm scared Damien...You had to kill an innocent willingly to summon the Devil and now you have made a deal with him I'm to be sacrificed to him willingly or not." Salem was confused, hurt, and frightened. He had to find a way out of this not for Damien's sake, but his own. What was he to do to stop all of this?

approved

((Post at house or somewhere else?))

Damien shook his head, "No, once we leave the Coven they will begin to initiate the proper rituals to get us into a new coven and by that time it will be a lot harder for me to stay alive. English Covens are more stuck in the old ways than most others. I'm going to have to get in contact with the High Priestess of the Silent Coven. I haven't done it in awhile and London would get me caught as a Wraith." Damien was clearly frantic. He was losing control more and more and he felt it. Payment was due and by his own words Salem was to be his payment no amount of hiding and magic could keep
"Old Scratch" away forever. He always collects no soul is safe. It is far easier to collect a soul for someone so powerful and so ancient. Cain sacrificed his brother Abel for power and Daien would never be able to commit such a horrendous crime.
Salem was in shock at his words, but was beginning to understand. "Damien, did you offer a child to the Devil? You telling me I'm like a son to you simply made it permanent. This whole time you have been killing the impure ones you have been avoiding payment of a true innocent. What of the High Priestesses who died before? What of the guardian?"
Damien shook his head. his knuckles turnign pale by his grip onthe steering wheel. "Salem, it's complicated. I have been killing those who are nto innocent to survive, the others simply were casualties only unnecessary to my cause, but completely to ensure that you remain safe with me and I remain alive."
Salem looked in the rear view mirror at Damien's eyes. they were red and puffy tearing up. "I understand...I hate you for what you have done, but I love you as my brother and my father. There are always other ways around things. Every spell has other doors that can be opened and counter them...Every deal has loopholes...for both sides." Salem tried to comfort his brother, but he questioned if he should truly feel sorry for a murderer, his brother or not...he even questioned his own words true or false. With his mixed emotions the skies began to turn a dark overcast. Clouds threatening to rain, but yet also attempting to scatter for sunshine. This morning was already at a bad start.

Damien hit the gas and pulle dout of the parking lot hard, "I am sorry what Is aid, Salem, You are nothing like a son to me. I don't love you in any way. I hate you...Do you hear me?! I hate you!" Damien was feeling several levels of fear and anger at hismelf. Damien knew Satan would take his words and give the deal a double meaning. His words lingering in his head, "Your first born. A son will suffice..." Damien said he loved Salem like a son and to Satan there was no difference. A son was a son and that meant Salem was his first born. Damien was desperate now. He had to either turn hismelf in as a Wraith or attempt to protect Salem himself. He had to get somewhere safe. The house would have to be left for a while. Where was Erin? She had to be found too, otherwise she wouldn't be safe either. He was going to the house first to pack up.

you pick doesn't matter to me I'm up for anybody. Right now he is in search of Damien and has been for a while still. He hasn't unlocked any of hs powers due to enchanted iron that he wears around his neck and hasn't realized it either.

Salem glared for a moment, "Close the door." Damien listened and did so locking it behind him. "Why did you do it? Why did you kill our mom and dad?" Damien frowned. Variel was right to be neutral because he wouldn't allow her to take his side in any of this. He knew Salem was in the right and he was in the wrong. "Salem, before our parents moved here they were told by their seer that marriage wouldn't be allowed. They did it anyway. They weren't supposed to even procreate, but they did three times. Running away led them here and by destroying the loyalty they held with their Coven were deemed Rogues. They gave up their own families just so they can do as they please and go against their own Coven. They destroyed our values for their own selfish reasons. When it came time for me to ascend I knew that the only way to correct mistakes like that is by gaining power. I couldn't do it all on my own, but they became the first sacrifice because of their disloyalty to their coven and I knew that I didn't want you and Erin growing up with traitors to their own coven. Salem...I have killed for your future to be the way the original covens intended for it to be. I don't know what I would do without you, Erin, and Variel in my life. I would be lost. I don't become bloodthirsty for the kill. I do it so you will have a good life. If I ever have children I hope they become as virtuous as you. I have raised you long enough to love you more than a brother, but like a son. Gay or straight I love you no matter what and I always will." Salem looked shocked turning pale almost. "Yeah, I've known for a while, Salem. It doesn't bother me. Your my family...my own child even. I have clothed, bathed, and cared for you as my son. I can't lose you because of my choices to better your future without getting in the way of what you want to do with your life." Damien was being sincere. He believed Salem to be his son. He was gay, sure, but he was always going to love him no matter what. As Damien said the words it only occurred to him exactly what he had just said. He just condemned Salem to Hell. "We have to leave....I need to protect you...please hate me if you must for all that I've done, but let me love you Salem. You're not safe here." Damien wasted no time as he moved to Salem and pulle dout the IV carefully. "He will come for you now...I'm sorry what I just said...I didn't mean it." Salem was in too much shock to say anything as damien tossed him a pair of gym shorts and a tank top. Salem pulled the shorts on under his gown still trying to grasp what Damien was ranting about now. He wasn't abotu to let any of them see his bulge without his consent and alcohol. As he pulled the shirt on and the hat he grabbed a paper towel from the bathroom to stop blood form leaking down his arm from where the IV had been. "What do you mean? What's happening?" He asked pulling his hat over his head and looking at Variel confused. "What is going on?" Damien had no time to explain knowing variel would follow as the drugged salem was hardly bale to take a few steps before almsot collapsing formthe drugs the doctors had given him to calm down. Damien took Salem in his arms like a bride entering the honeymoon suite. He raced downnthe hall with no word to the doctors and nurses who looked jsut as shocked as Salem. Damien mad eit tot he car using his telekinesis to swing the door open nearly takingit off its hinges as he helped Salem in and started the ehicle. He waited for Vari to get in before flooring it.

I have ash free for now

Salem shook his head to the mocha, "I was trying to tell you something, but I'm sure you guessed what it was already." He said blushing a bit from embarassment of the entire situation. "Why am I in here anyway?" He asked plainly, "I don't want to ask you anything because I trust you. You may have told a truth I didn't want to hear even after I knew it, but you owned up to it. I respect that enough to trust you about anything." Salem admitted, but he was still more curious abotu how he even got there..."The last thing I remember before all of this was getting drunk and trying to come out of the closet. Everything goes fuzzy after that...guess alcohol dulls my new power." He said plainly before a knock at the door came and Damien walked in. "Hey, bro...I guess you know now, huh?" Salem went quite having wanted to talk, but was now speechless in the face of the killer of hsi dreams and past.

Salem looked almost entirely torn between two parts. He was either to accept that his brother killed to survive and would forever continue to do so or he was to see his brother's crimes as just that. Salem shook his head gripping his hat in his hands. "I want to speak to Damien. I trust you too much Variel. Sure he may have killed one who wasn't innocent, but if my memories are truly resurfacing due to a new power then I want to be able to hear the reason that so many others before have had to die. What were their crimes?" He asked clearly unable to take Variel's words to heart because he trusted her too much. She could be lying and he never know it. He has seen her crimes and she was guilty of Envy, Wrath, Lust, & Gluttony. She envied the normal mortals who went blindly through their lives. Her Wrath has been explained by her just now. Lust was more inner than outer and Gluttony over the drugs she once did. He wanted to see his brother's crimes. He never bothered to use this ability on Damien, but now he had very good reason to. After killing his best friend he swore to never use his powers on others for selfish reasons, but he had to question was this selfish or for the good of others?

Salem loved Variel entirely, she was the mother he could never have, a second sister even. However, he loved his brother who raised him as well. Damien was a murderer and Variel helped him do one of the dirty deeds. Even if it was survival and safety she still did it. To him murder could never be justified unless it was self defense. He didn't care at this point if Variel lied to him, but he would rather her do so. "Did he attack you and Damien first? Did you kill him not only for his deeds, but because he was going to do the same to you? Did he have a familiar?" Salem asked quietly and calmly. He wanted her to put his mind at ease on her own behalf. "I don't want you to leave, Vari, but I want to know if their is any real justice in it that could not have been resolved any other way." Salem could manipulate others vices and virtues, but his own power held sway over him even. He wanted to know if the virtues that were swaying him were able to be justified in Variel. He sensed her sins and her virtues. He knew her more than most would be able to. While Damien felt her emotions he felt her past.

Salem looked even more furious, "What? You helped him? You helped Damien kill someone? No one deserves to be murdered no matter how horrible they are. You people make me sick. How do you expect me to sleep if that is what I have to live with knowing? I can't trust you or him, can I? You are both sick monsters. I swear when I leave this hospital I'm going to turn Damien in. I can't have a brother who is so dark. I won't!!! Even if that means eliminating him through trial. I refuse for such horrible things to be on my mind every time I look at the two of you." He said as his heart rate picked up a bit. A nurse came in and put something in his IV. "This will keep him calm." She said before walking out again. "Salem looked furious, but it seemed to fade like he couldn't stay mad or at least he couldn't show signs of being mad, which was probably worse. He started breathing more slowly, "What are you talking about Mnemokinesis? No one in our Coven has ever had that. How do they know how to even recognize it?" He asked as the drug clearly took effect.

awe that sucks....

Salem looked shocked to see her mainly because he was expecting to yell as son as Damien walked through the door, but it wasn't Damien who entered it was instead Variel. It felt nice to see a familiar face he knew to not be a murderer. "Variel? Um, thanks." He said accepting the hat. It was white with the usual flat bill and a turquoise splatter on it. "Where is he now? I'm sure it was jsut to stall for a bit. You are is familiar and I know he trust you. Did he trust you with the secret of murder?" He was quick to jump to the point no matter how comforting it was to not see Damien and instead see Vari. "I am not entirely sure how it happened, but my dreams aren't dreams. I have PTSD because of him. I can't believe the Coven is alright with being partly led by a Wraith. The one thing they have been striving to kill since before my birth." He explained clearly holding no desire of understanding or sympathy for his brother, but also showing that he didn't know anything beyond his own memories.

Salem wasn't sure how he knew it was real or what made him consider the possibility that his own brother would be able to do such horrible things. He was so enraged it was the realization as he slept that aroused him to awaken. Salem awoke screaming for Damien and shouting horrible things about him, "The lying prick is a murderer. He killed them!!! He killed them all!!!" Salem eventually had to be sedated given that Damien never answered the phone after two calls. He was strapped down and give a sedative. That only calmed him down for a little bit. Once that wore off he went back into his mental ranting. He was given more sedatives and left untied. He was rather calm enough that he wouldn't be able to stop anyone form doing anything now and was left to await the murderer of his parents arrival.
