Tao sat on the roof of the apartment building and took in a deep breathe.
I miss the smell of his cologne. . . he thought to himself.
It had been exactly a month since he had arrived at Grievance Ridge, and he hadn't made any contact with any supernaturals since he arrived. Not that he wanted to. Witch hunters, Wraiths, Covens, they were all different but had a similar motive, rise above the others to be the strongest. That contributed to that loss of his entire family, and the love of his life.

The metal felt cold, making him think about that cold night 2 years ago. He slipped the ring back into his shirt and traced his fingers along the tiles of the roof, a trail a frost left in his fingers trace. He sighed and stood, taking out a picture of his lost fiancée. He smiled at the picture of Kris then looked out upon the town, the lights of buildings illuminating the cloudy night skies. He folded the picture and slipped it into his pocket.
