I agree (view spoiler)[ so many different ways she knows most of the men around her are lying. but why? I'm shocked she isn't more weary of them.
the logging company has every reason to hate her dad and want to hide/cover up his death if he was keeping the trees a secret or if he discovered they were doing illegal logging.

but that doesn't answer the weird sounds she keeps hearing. . .

I equate the sexual stuff closer to Eric LaRocca's work or Black Flame - both of which I really liked because the rest of the story were extreme and so, for me, it worked much more

(speaking of which - I want to do the audio of Eric LaRocca's new story We Are Always Tender With Our Dead so bad!)

I read some of the extreme horror, I think.

and YES! the plot here, the group, even her reasons for not wanting (view spoiler)[ to have sex with the virus in the shape-ish of her friends (hide spoiler)] even that reasoning was so spot on and an interesting statement and something to think about.

but yes! The story was so good - but the over-the-top sexual stuff definitely shadowed what was a really interesting, fascinating, and captivating story! Even some of the sexual stuff would have been fine but whew! there were so many uncomfortable parts! lol

Yes! I really struggled to rate it!! I started at my 2 stars wondering if I should do 3 or drop to 1. It's hard, because like you - I have to give props for going out on a whim and there were so many things that were so well done!!

But the parts that were shocking were SO shocking! It is a hard one to rate! I think I might bump mine up to 3 stars
