I came past a stream where I saw Greg and Claudia talking. I hurried on along the trail. I did not want to overhear anything personal. I had too much of my personal life to think about. I did hope though, that Claudia and Greg would get together. They seemed perfect.

Sadness washed over me. I sat on a rock farther down the stream and beckoned for Poppie to come sit by me. She sniffed my face and lay her head on my lap after sitting down. I brushed her fur and scratched behind her ears.

I heard a Nell's voice behind me. "What are you doing? Are you alright?" She came and sat down at my feet and petted Poppie. Her gaze never left me. "Is E's teasing getting to be too much? Or is it something else?" She was so perseptive.

I sighed heavily. It seemed like this mornings excitement had gone out like a candle in a wind storm. "It's not E. Although that is annoying." I stood up and walked to the nearest tree and picked some flowers that were growing at it's base. "Have you ever wondered if you would ever find your place in this world? Or at least a purpose to it? I mean, I feel like there's some part of me missing and I can't find it." While I spoke I pick the petals off, saying mentally He loves me. He loves me not. as I tore each petal. It was very elementary school-ish, but I didn't care.

Nell came and wrapped her arms around me in a gesture of friendship and comfort. "Of course I have." She leaned back so she could see me, but kept her hands on my shoulders. "But then I found John. And I have never been happier. You will find him. He's out there somewhere."

We turned to walk back to the van, our arms on top of each others shoulders. I whistled and Poppie came running after us.

E looked around at the group in the car, looking happy. "I'm so glad everyone could do this. Too bad we didn't invite Drew." She gave a slight glance at me that I wasn't supposed to see.

I turned the deepest red I had ever turned. I did like Drew. E, Claudia, Nell, even Greg, knew that I liked him. He was not your everyday prince. Yes, he was tall, and handsome...and his brown hair was always messed up. I glared at E, who didn't seem to notice. The reason we hadn't asked him was because they knew how I would kill them for trying to set me up with him.

I tried to sound casual as I spoke to Nell. "So, Nell, have you decided where you wanted to go to college? Or are your parents still pushing you towards the whole celeb stuff?" Nell laughed and turned back in my direction.

"I'm thinking about taking that scholarship for WOU. But this isn't going to distract me from your obvious affair with Drew Fall. You really should let us set you up with him. I know he'd enjoy it as much as you." Everyone else laughed. I slunk down in my seat turning red, yet again. When would they ever stop?

Before long, I fell asleep, then woke up suddenly by Claudia shaking my shoulder. She'd said they were taking a pit stop. I got out and let Poppie out. I told Greg I'd take her for a quick walk. I needed time to think anyway. Several issues were weighing on me, even with all my newfound freedom.

What was I going to do about college? Didn't care, as long as music was involved. Do my friends really think that Mr. Smart and Handsome Drew liked me like I liked him?...

Okay, okay. Rephrase. What if Edward got Carlisle to take Carlie out while she was the fetus? Don't say that Carlisle wouldn't do that, I know. That's why it didn't happen.

What if Bella gave Carlie up?

Nooooo!

Plan:: Get famous and make him fall in love with me so that he will stay nearby and be my BF

"Hmm...That's strange. I always thought of your mom working at some beauty salon while your dad worked as a photographer for a fashion magazine." I thought it was weird to have parents look that good, yet they didn't take advantage of it.

Evangeline looked a little envious. "At least your parents aren't overly protective and let you do things. I almost had to sneak out before they could change their mind." Am I the only one who doesn't have weird parents? I thought to myself. Greg looked back at us for a brief moment, particularly at Claudia. No one was supposed to notice his longer glance at C. I knew he liked her, it was obvious to me. Apparently not to anyone else though. Poor Greg. He'd only had a few girlfriends, and none lasted more than a month.

Nell slapped Greg and pointed to the highway, "Greg pay attention." He managed to make the turn just in time. "Sheesh, Greg, do you want me to drive?"

"No, Nell. I don't trust this baby to any of you girls. Maybe Poppie, but...you might get her scratched." All four of us girls glared at him and smacked him in the head at the same time. We all burst out laughing as he said "OW! What the heck?"

"Hey, C." I hugged Claudia and pushed Poppie off of me. I smiled at Claudia's clear dislike of physical contact. "So, I brought your favorite candy with us. I know how your mom hates sugar." I rummaged through my pack and handed her a big red bag. "Enjoy."
Evangeline slammed the door shut and buckled up. "Yes! Let's go! Nell turn on the music!" Nell grinned and turned the radio to our favorite station. Everyone, including the dog, joined in the singing except Claudia and me. I reached for my music notebook, but someone snatched it away from me.

"Hey!" Evangeline and Claudia were grinning. I reached for my notebook in E's hand, but she kept it out of my reach. "Can't a girl just let the beat take her?"

"Yeah, the beat of the radio. Remember what we agreed to?" I did, I just didn't like it. I wasn't supposed to sit in the car writing music and not joining the convo, or so I'm told.

"Fine. Claudia, do your parents really think we intend to be back in three days? Seriously, we gonna be gone for a month."

Hey, maybe over the summer we could design an inexpensive piece and try to make them exactly the same...Let's keep our minds open.

Yeah! The only bad part is I have no clue if my mom would help me. Probably not. And I would have to pay for everything myself. I'm trying to save up for an Ipod Touch. That's gonna take awhile. Especially since I don't get an allowance and only get payed for my grades. I get birthday and Christmas money from grandparents, but that's still not enough. I probably should just buy fan gear, but then it doesn't seem as obsessed.

True...but...what if you bought one of those fab little button makers? Or...we could use white fabric paint on black shirts. Oh well.

Oh, right. I have nothing to add to that.

Before the van had reached a full stop she was at the side door. She yanked the door open and tossed her bag in the back behind Poppie. She jumped in and slammed the door shut.

"Hi." she said in a calm manner that didn't match her enthusiastic expression. All our heads were turned in her direction, even the dog. "What? Can't I be excited about this too?"

(You don't have to write in first person. Your choice. Am I picking you up at Claudia's house?)

Nell was in the passenger's seat up front and turned to smile at me. "I can't wait. I've never seen the Three Sisters before. And I love having no grown ups around." She grinned widely. I grinned back. We all were happy to have no parental guidance on this trip. Just us.

"Greg, where are the others? I thought you said everyone was in the car." I buckled up and leaned back. I felt hot breath on my neck. I turned around and saw Poppie grinning a dog smile at me. "Hi, Poppie. Nice to see you too. Greg?" I patted Poppie's head then faced forward again.

"Oh, right. Well...I meant everyone as in Nell and Poppie. We still have to pick up Claudia and Evangeline."
Ugh. I hate Claudia's perfect model parents. They're so...vain...and mean. "I thought I told you I didn't want to deal with Claudia's parents."

"You won't have to. E will deal with them. You know how her charm makes Claudia's parents behave."

"It will be fine." said Nell as she reached back and patted my hand.

We reached Evangeline's huge house in the rich side of town. She was already waiting on the porch with her bag.

Clara Rosalie wrote: "Ow...good job, Autumn!"

Ow? What's ow? Or is that supposed to be "Oh" or "Wow?" But it is cool, isn't it?

"Come in!" Violet snatched her swim suit up and stuffed it in her bag. Might as well be prepared. She went to grab her notebook off her desk but it wasn't there. She noticed that she hadn't heard any footsteps. Hey, I thought someone was coming in here.

"Boo!" She spun around and saw Greg standing behind her with her notebook. "Gotcha."He was tall, fair skinned, and had carrot red hair. He was wearing khaki shorts and a red T-shirt, exposing his ghost white skin covered in freckles.

"Did not!" she said with annoyance. "You merely startled me. Not the same thing."

He casually walked to her couch and plopped down. "Did so. You know, you should really just leave this here. Don't worry about your music so much. We're supposed to be having fun." he said.

Violet grabbed the notbook out of his hands and placed it in her bag. Greg looked slightly amused. "For me it is fun. And it's just in case I come up with anything." Violet was constantly writing music. It just came to her. "Let's go. I'm all packed up. Is everyone else waiting in your van?"

"Yep." he popped the p. He chuckled at something. "Nell isn't exactly happy about the wet dog smell. But I couldn't just leave Poppi behind. She'd never eat. Besides, she can gaurd us from bears." He had a mischeivous look in his blue eyes. "Or worse."

(Ok, so I just changed this to first person. It's easier for me to write in. Sorry if it confuses you.)
I smacked him in the head, which was just a few inches shorter than me. He was always trying to scare me and my three other girl friends. He managed to scare them, but me...not so much. I watched too many scaring movies when I was little and became immune. Sheesh, boys are annoying.

I grabbed his elbow and dragged him out of my forest themed room and down the stairs. We came upon my parents at the front door who were excited for me to have my first vacation as a free adult.

Mom started firing off questions at top speed making sure I had everything. They followed Greg and me outside to the blue van waiting in the drive way. Greg took my bag and tossed it in the back with his German Shepard and went to the driver's seat.

"Mom, I've got everything I need and I call you when we get to our first stop." I hugged her and my dad and ran to the open side door.

Yes, you'll never look at Edward the same way. Only better of course.
