I sat at the pond that slightly glowed in the moonlight. I dipped my fingers in it, assuming it would be cold. To my surprise, it was warm. Much warmer than me. Huh. Another freaky vampire thing, I guess. I had known the bath water would be warm, but this? Weird.

I heard the voices inside, but didn't listen. I would stay with Beth until I had sorted myself out. And maybe I would stay anyway. One thing I knew for sure though. If Drew left, I would follow. I would go with him anywhere. I heard his familiar steps coming towards me. He sat by me, in his ragged pants and clothes. Surprising his leather jacket still held together. But there was blood all over him. Dried, so I didn't feel the burn in my throat.

"What are you thinking about?" He grabbed my hand and played with my fingers. Then he brushed his fingers through my hair with his other hand. I leaned on him, not really needing to, but it felt nice anyway.

"About how strange this all is. This day will never end. Although I wish everything could stay exactly like this." I gestured to us, then the pond, and the rest of the beautiful night.

"Thank you. It means a lot to me." I sighed. I thought I heard a pond near the house. It sounded nice, and it helped me get my emotions together. "Is there someplace I can clean up?"

Beth nodded and took me into her room to give some clean clothes. From the pile she had collected, I chose some plain black leggings like the ones I wore, before they had been roughed up. I also chose a pale green tight fitting sweater. Beth had a lot of shoes, so I chose the metallic green thigh boots. She then directed me towards the bathroom.

I let the hot water wash away the grime, and I tried not to think. Of course that was hard. So I thought about the things that didn't hurt. Like how Beth had fabolous clothes that reminded me of my old wardrobe. Once I had cleaned up, I got dressed in 8/64th of a second and headed downstairs.
