If that is dumb luck, hit me with a horseshoe until I get it.

154447 I will just jump in with this...

I have never liked it when a font is used due to cultural reasons. All of those Chinese Food restaurants with that Asian font make me cringe.

No offence of course, but I think you should go for a feel, not for a culture.

154447 Maybe it is a pit made by independent pit makers... Like with spikes they made at home in their just as good as professional pit makers lathes. I have a big stuffed crocodile to put in the bottom of said Indie Pit.

Is that scary enough? :D

...

Oh... I am just hearing now through my mic that it stands for Indie Pitch, it isn't Indie Pit.

...

But I'm not good at baseball!!!

154447 What is an Indie Pit? Is it like the ball pit at McDonalds except full of Indie Authors?

Creepy.

I'm like Donatello Myself, as I imagine many other authors are.

154447 Avoid confusion. That is right up there on the list of things you should do.

154447 Here is the Fan Art I drew for Hayden Linder, for The Hand of Death. This novel has wizards and ninjas in it, so this is the Wizninja!

Print that sucker out on edible rice paper with edible inks and put it on an ice cream cake!

154447 Hello Alexa,

In my opinion I don't think you need the ghosted city on there, as it is distracting from the main image. I don't think the buildings add anything, certainly nothing that says Contemporary Romance.

Otherwise I quite like the font used and the layout. I think that the title could benefit from more contrast. It is easier to see in black and white, but the colour one is a bit colour cluttered and hard to make out. Maybe just skip the multiply effect on the title and make it pure black.

Nice though. :)

154447 The thing about that quote is that it varies depending on what you think it means. :)
I will again say that I never said that anyone's work is terrible. :)
154447 I don't balloon, I blimp!

- I had an idea for a 3000ish word short story written on a torn off piece of notepad paper.
- After a week of sitting on the counter that short story note had become a nine chapter book. 30,000ish words
- After five chapters of writing it became a three part epic fantasy series of approximately 500,000 words.
- Now it has plans to become a franchise. The second series has spontaneously started a spreadsheet on my computer and the third is floating around in space!

I have looking for a more exciting font, i like this one, What do you think?
Also, The title in the center or in the right?"

It is a nice font, but I don't think it is a powerful enough font for a title. Also, don't match your title font with the font for your name, Make your name easy to read and simple, so it doesn't distract.

I really think this would benefit with a title font that covered the entire blank space at the top on the picture.

I don't think your problem is Blackbird Unmagicness Ken, I think your problem is contrast. Everything is very dark on this cover, so nothing really pops. Popping is what attracts attention.

If you want that blackbird to stand out, make the background very light. If you want the title to stand out, make the background very light. Instant pop!

Good luck.

In fact, being in this group means that you are in fact seeking help and far more likely to be in the top category of that quote! ;)

The curse is that you can publish books that are poorly written, poorly edited, or just never needed to be written at all. This always springs to my mind. I don't honestly remember where I heard it.

- Indie Publishing is the absolute best thing to happen to the written word since the Gutenberg press, absolutely anyone can publish a book!

154447 I attempted to find a publisher for two rounds, an agent for two rounds, then a publisher for three more rounds. It was over a year of waiting, stagnation, bad experiences, and heartbreak.

You do not know the joy of life until you end up in a company wide email bash-fest targeting you for inquiring if your submission was received in what happened to be the receptionist's medical leave... How emotionally insensitive and oblivious I was... apparently.

That is why I decided to self publish...
