this bookstore looks pretty good. not far from roslyn... maybe 30 miles. i've been looking at hiking trails. there are a bunch in the area... easy ones and hard ones. the area around roslyn looks just unbelievable.

Again... here's the link: www.NearSuncadia.com
Be sure to check out the links section. There's all kinds of activities in the area: horseback riding, river rafting, hiking, mountain biking... the community the cabin is located in has a swimming pool, volley ball courts and other amenities.
The cabin also has a big hot tub.
I just signed the agreement. I'm responsible for ensuring that we treat Ms Pennie's place with respect and that we don't get too loud. But she's unwavering in her hopes that we have fun. And I do believe we will have fun. I think that's a guarantee.
The one week she told me is one week. That's 7 days AND 7 nights. Sunday night through Saturday night. Check-out will be the following Sunday. Check-in time is 4:00pm on August 1, check-out is 10:00am on August 9.
*** As I was typing this my email beeped... just in from the owner of the cabin ***
You can tell everyone else that your group now "has the Cabin for the first week in August. And yes, we can adjust the numbers if more people show up. But please do study the bed arrangements on the Floor Plan, especially if you think the group might get large enough to need more individual beds or even bedrooms. Roslyn Ridge is a very new Cabin Community (with a great swimming pool!), and very small... and there are several smaller places very close by. (Nothing is far from anything else within the little Community - and Ronald, Roslyn, Cle Elum, and Suncadia are mere minutes away.) We've worked with the other managers or owners (like us, just "managing" our own property) for "overflow" sleeping a few times.
Jay and I had never watched "Northern Exposure" when it ran on TV, but the 1st summer (2008), right after the Cabin was finally finished, we bought the series, and it was quite odd, and then we really got into it, especially because Roslyn DOES look like that (many of the exterior shots were "real"). Jay also knows one of the writer/producers, but he did most (or maybe all?) of HIS work in LA.
I'm planning to add the full series of Northern Exposure to all of the new amenities/activities/etc. that will all be in place long before your arrival. (Get a keg of Roslyn Root Beer to drink while watching! They don't sell it in bottles, or we'd have some waiting in the Fridge for each group. Roslyn (regular) BEER is sold in bottles, however. [But we don't want to leave alcohol for guests... never know if there are cultural or religious objections, or someone with a problem under control who really doesn't need to have a beer staring right out, etc.!:]
There is a little Museum that has some things from Northern Exposure, and mostly very old pictures and other sort of artifacts from the mining going back to the 19th century. And we know the couple who manage the Brick (local Bar, great burgers), so maybe if you'd like a private tour of the "jail" in the basement, where the bartenders used to lock up unruly drunks until they sobered up... My understanding is that this is true, but it's hard to know sometimes.
Later (or sooner, if you prefer), don't hesitate to ask us about anything special the we can arrange, or recommend, etc. We've gotten good reports about river rafting.
Thank you again for choosing The CabinNearSuncadia for your get-together!
This lady rocks!! If anyone is interested in any of the surrounding activities, let me know and I'll pass the info along to her. There are bike rentals and kayak/canoe rentals available.
Hope everyone's excited. I kind of can't wait. But again... last I heard time was still at Ben's place.

The week is a better deal and I need a place to chill. It's better than a Motel 6. People can drop in and out whenever the need arises. It's free (and easy).

This place, as of about 4 hours ago, was available. http://nearsuncadia.com/index.htm If everyone is ok with it I'll book and finalize it tomorrow. It sleeps 30 people. There's hiking evidently nearby. I'm still planning for 7 days and I'm still planning on taking care of the accomodation arrangements.
Sleep is coming soon for me and you American people will be rising to a glorious day where the Saints reign supreme. Let me know what you think and I'll take care of it while y'all are sleeping tomorrow night.
The important thing is that whatever I book will HAVE to be for the first week of August. Some have already bought tickets so I'm not going to change dates.
I just want to make sure the accomodations are in place by this week. I've got tickets to get too.
Bri (Martyn, nobody has called me that except for a few ff'ers. I'm cool with it)

And it do say this... The minimum stay is one week from June to August and two nights the rest of the year.
If they charge the max 3500.00 that would be 292/person.
I do like the way the place looks... and sounds.
