1532 Summary:
Sage Singer, who befriends an old man who's particularly beloved in her community. Josef Weber is everyone favorite retired teacher and Little League coach and they strike up a friendship at the bakery where Sage works. One day he asks Sage for a favor: to kill him. Shocked, Sage refuses…and then he confesses his darkest secret - he deserves to die, because he was a Nazi SS guard. Complicating the matter? Sage's grandmother is a Holocaust survivor.

What do you do when evil lives next door? Can someone who's committed a truly heinous act ever atone for it with subsequent good behavior? Should you offer forgiveness to someone if you aren't the party who was wronged? And most of all - if Sage even considers his request - is it murder, or justice?

Let the discussion begin. Be Prepared for spoilers.

1532 Hello everybody. I was doing some research and Jodi Picoult's movies are coming on the Lifetime Movie Channel throughout the end of February into March. I'm recording them and plan to watch them after I have read the book. The only Lifetime one I have seen is The Pact.

The Tenth Circle comes on Febuary 26th, 2013 (same day that The Stoyteller is released)
The Pact comes on March 6th, 2013
Plain Truth comes on March 8th, 2013
Salem Falls come on March 29th, 2013
I guess I will be putting these Jodi Picoult books on my to read list for April since I already planned out March. I plan to read The Storyteller as soon as it comes in for me at the Library. I'm very excited to read it.

That is so interesting I have read House Rules, but it was wonderful, but not my favorite. Since reading Nineteen Minutes this past November I haven't been able to decide if my favorite Jodi Picoult book is The Pact or Nineteen Minutes. Nobody reads the same book so we all see her books differently and that is okay.

1532 My sister had that problem I'm going to start it sometime this week.
Jodi's last name (25 new)

1532 I have always pronounced it Pi-colt and I continue to pronounce it that way even though I know the true way to say her last name.

1532 I read My Sister's Keeper when I was 14 and it was a great start to Jodi Picoult. I didn't discover The Pact until I was 17 so I can't really say if I would have been mature enough to handle The Pact at 14, but most likely I would have been.

1532 1. Salem Falls (2001)
2. The Pact (2002)
3. Plain Truth (2004)
4. The Tenth Circle (2008)
5. My Sister's Keeper (2009)

What are your thoughs on the Jodi Picoult movies? Do you like them/ hate them? Which ones have you seen/ haven't seen? What would you change about the movies if you could? Which is better book or movie?

So far I have only seen The Pact and My Sister's Keeper. The Pact in my opinion was horrible and nothing like the amazingness of the novel. My Sister's Keeper although it wasn't as great as the novel got me started reading Jodi Picoult so for that I am thankful.

1532 Hi my name is Rachael. I'm 18 years old and a senior in high school. I started reading Jodi Picoult book back in 2009 after I saw My Sister's Keeper. So I read the book I enjoyed it. Then I didn't pick up another book until 2011. After I read The Pact I fell in love with all things Jodi Picoult and now I follow her religiously. I will have a more indepth blog post about my love for Jodi Picoult up in a couple of weeks. The link to my blog is http://rachaelc94.blogspot.com/

This group is great and I think it has some pretty great people in, but I'm going to say I see room for improvement and I will be making changes and finding way to get this group more involved. I would love to do a readalong, group read thing when The Storyteller comes out because let me just say that book is going to be amazing.

1532 I'm hosting a Jodi Picoult reading challenge over on my blog which can be found on my profile here on goodreads. I read this book in November and loved it. I read an interview with Jodi Picoult where she said there was a shooting in Minnesota when she was in Minnesota and writing a chapter of nineteen minutes. When the shooting in Newton, Conneticut happened that altogether made this story more read for me. The book is wonderful. The characters are well developed and their emotions feel very real. Jodi Picoult made me think about things I wouldn't have thought of.

1532 It is a great book. I'm 17 and I loved it. My sister is 14 and she loved it also.

1532 I enjoyed my sister's keeper. I really want to see The Tenth Circle, Plain Truth, and Salem Falls. The Pact was nowhere near how amazing the book is. It was a big disappointment.

1532 Very Excited about her new book.
