1532 I have been busy with college and this group has kind of been the last thing on my mind. I'm glad everybody has continued to chat while I was gone. I just recently got contacted by one of Jodi's publishers about her new book Leaving Time coming out this fall. She said that she would like to work closely with this group to host events for Leaving Time. I plan to do a readalong for the book when it first comes out, but since we have this summer I think it would be great to do a readalong of a different Jodi Picoult book. Maybe starting middle of May into June. I have not read a Jodi Picoult book since July 2013 so I'm desperate to read more of her novels. I want to have the time to enjoy her novels so therefore I haven't read them while I'm at school. We have 7 weeks left then I'm finally going to have time again to be apart of this group.

I have not seen most of them. I have been waiting for them to come on tv and have me read the books before I watch the movies.

Another one that is really good is "The Pact"... Have you read that one also?"

Thanks for checking Michelle. The Pact is actually the novel that really got me started on Jodi Picoult. Here's the link to my blog post that has all the hows of why I love Jodi Picoult.

1532 I fell in love with Lone Wolf really fast and I was quickly telling all my friends about it. I even read it during an assembly once since I wasn't interested in the assembly and couldn't stop thinking about Lone Wolf.

1532 I also really liked the wolf dynamic of this novel. I felt like I learned a lot about wolves that I otherwise wouldn't have learned.

Elizabeth- I would have to say that my favorite character was Cara. Maybe she did hold on to wild fantasies, but I saw hope in Cara that I think our world has lost a little bit. I also saw determination in Cara in the fact that she was not willing to give up. That will take her far in life.

My least favorite character had to be Edward because to me he was always a coward. He ran away from his family instead of facing the issues. Then he comes back in the time of crisis and thinks he can just come back where he left off. I was never sure if his motivates were in the right place the whole time during the book. That was hard for me to understand Edward. What he did at the end of the novel just proved to me how much I didn't like him as a character. I did like the fact that he wants to fulfill his father's motive for being an organ donor.

1532 Lone wolf won by 2 votes for our poll for the May/June Read Along. I read Lone Wolf in April 2012 right after it came out and it was a wonderful book. I highly recommend it. This read along will go through the end of June. I will open up a poll around the end of June to vote for another read along book to read if you guys so desire.

THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING SENSATION TELLS A PROVOCATIVE STORY ABOUT FAMILY SECRETS, LOVE, AND LETTING GO IN HER UNFORGETTABLE NEW TOUR DE FORCE. On an icy winter night, a terrible accident forces a family divided to come together and make a fateful decision. Cara, once protected by her father, Luke, is tormented by a secret that nobody knows. Her brother, Edward, has secrets of his own. He has kept them hidden, but now they may come to light, and if they do, Cara will be devastated. Their mother, Georgie, was never able to compete with her ex-husband’s obsessions, and now, his fate hangs in the balance and in the hands of her children. With conflicting motivations and emotions, what will this family decide? And will they be able to live with that decision, after the truth has been revealed? What happens when the hope that should sustain a family is the very thing tearing it apart?

Let the Discussion Begin. Be Prepared for Spoilers ahead.

1532 Lori- the ending just happened so quickly that it was truly slicking for me. I reread it and understood the ending fully.

1532 Angie wrote: "I don't know how a read along works? Can someone explain it to me, please."

A read along is where we read a book together then we come to the thread to ask questions and people's opinion of the book. Then people respond back to question and give their opinion about the book. It is a fun way to discuss the book while others motivate you to keep reading the book so you can discuss it with everybody else. Several other groups on goodreads do this monthly, but I don't have time to read Picoult book every month to participate in the discussion so we will do them sporadically.

1532 Marti wrote: "I also think the baking of the bread was an integral part of the story. Not only did it tie the women together within the family, but it also helped tie the "story" with the reality in the grandmot..."

In my opinion Minka was the true main character because her story took up most of the book and she was the reason Sage made the decision she did at the end.

Sadly I have read all of those, but that doesn't mean we can't read them for the read-along. It just means I will just discuss and not reread.

1532 I'm going to put my vote for Salem Falls or Plain Truth. Put your suggestions below and then I will set up a poll whichever book wins the poll will be our read-along book for May.

1532 This is exactly what I wanted to see people discussing this awesome book. I haven't had time to sit down at the computer since I finished the book last week so I really enjoyed going through and reading everybody's comments.

**Spoilers ahead**
Marti ... I think Sage was very hurt after learning the Josef connected to her grandmother although not the way we thought he was through most of the book. Although Sage was angry at Josef I don't think she did what she did for evil purposes. I do think it was general, but still a personal decision for her because of her grandmother. Was what she did right? I don't know, but she made her choice.

I think Sage's action will make her and Leo relationship more difficult, but I still do believe they have a possibility of a future together.

Who does everybody think the real main character of this novel?
Did you think baking was a big part of this novel or would it have really mattered if Sage had a different career?

I personally didn't figure out the twist and I really liked the twist although it was confusing.
