153078 I loved the television series. Please don't read the book if you want it to be the series - lots of changes were made to bring the book to television and to keep it fresh over the years. If you can get past the differences, I definitely recommend the book.

153078 I skimmed the list at the Wikipedia link and can recommend the following books. I might recommend more, but I just glanced through the list. Also, most of the books I will recommend, I have no clue about the television counterpart! My top pick would be Empire Falls, I never saw the television series. The Firm - book better than the television series. Thorn Birds and Rich Man, Poor Man - I would recommend both the books and the mini-series'. House of Cards - might be difficult for some to get past how Parliament works, but a really good book - I haven't seen either the British or the American television series. Rizzoli and Isles books and television series - I will recommend both. M*A*S*H is the book I read in this category.

153078 Most of this book is set in Great Britain, with a small portion on the African coast. It's a story of immigration and the desire that what happens on vacation stays on vacation.
153078 I really liked my cousin's recommendation. A.J. Fikry owns a bookstore - what's not to like!

153078 I really liked this book and will read more by Scott Matthews. Terrorists act on American soil in this novel.

153078 I thought this was a good book, the only negative for me was what I felt was an inconsistency in the book. There were times when things happened in the book that didn't seem like they occurred during the span of a three day weekend. Other than that I would recommend the book and the movie.
153078 Two books in the buzz feed list above that I would recommend are Child 44 and Paper Towns. Child 44 is a great serial killer read. Paper Towns is a good easy read. I read it under the high school category. I hadn't read either of these authors before. I'll definitely read more of Mr. Smith's novels. I'll probably read more of Mr. Green's.

153078 I picked this book, because Nelson DeMille is one of my go-to authors. I haven't read any other books by Thomas Block. This book is about the Concorde and the title gives a big clue, but I won't spoil it. There are what I would consider some graphic descriptions, that were for me on the scary side, but they didn't make me put the book down. It was a great read.

153078 I also read this book for this category. I love the Flavia series and agree that the books should be read in order. I'm looking forward to the next in the series. I spent a little over two years in Great Britain, so that adds to my interest in the series.

153078 Alan Bradley writes the Flavia DeLuce novels. This book is totally different from those. It's about Alan, his mother, their relationship, his sisters, how his mother dealt with his father leaving, and how he dealt with his mother dying.

153078 Brad Taylor is one of my go-to authors and this book was published late in 2014, so it was my first up in January.
