I enjoyed this book. A seemingly small southern town with a store that sells upscale linens and the staff wears pajamas to work, a store that sells fountain pens that was recently purchased by a new man in town, and a new auto manufacturing plant owned by a Swedish company that sends more new people to town. Interesting characters that have lots of secrets. A pleasant read.

I prefer going to see plays, over reading them. I remember seeing this, probably as a movie when I was much younger and either sheltered or maybe clueless about the topic of this play. It's an excellent play and I would recommend it to anyone.

I haven't read this book, but I am adding it to my list after reading about it. I think you might enjoy Ella Minnow Pea. I really enjoyed it and wanted to read more by the author, but the last time I checked he only had the one novel. He had written several plays.

A cute easy read on the edge of the romance genre. I enjoyed it, and I might read additional books in the series.

A good story, that I really enjoyed - even though it was a little far fetched. Some of the things these high school seniors did just seemed too much of a stretch.

I enjoyed this book and will most likely read more by Ms. Moriaty. There are two triangles in this book, one that is full blown and one that is on the verge. This probably resonates with a lot of spouses, no matter which side of the triangle one might be on...

I cannot recommend this book strongly enough. There is quite a bit about Pete's dad, but who Pete's dad is what made Pete what he was. If you're a college or professional basketball fan, this is a recommended read. If you plan on coaching your kids teams - read this first!

I have always enjoyed the 007 movies, but hadn't read any of the books. They are now on my to read list.

An interesting type of mystery where the culprit is revealed by the author early in the book. In my mind it sort of defeats the purpose of a mystery! I would put this in the cozy mystery area. A cute and easy read.

Not in my preferred areas, an easy read mystery - not that I picked the culprit out. I would consider this in the cozy / semi-romance arena. Not a bad read, just not my style of book. I had picked this for a place I'd like to visit, but opted to move it to the female author folder.

"a book set in your hometown i would change this one to a book set in your country because it is really hard or even impossible to find such a book if you live in a small city"
How about a book set in your region. This could be in your state, set in a large town that's near your area, or it could be in the mountains or plains, depending on where you live.
I would also not be specific about characters, for example someone suggested vampires, this as far as I know would fit in the "non-human" category. ;-)

Many good..." That's (the Wikipedia link) where I started looking for a book in this category as well. Then to Goodreads for books by the author and reviews.

Water for Elephants is a good choice for this category.

Rich Man, Poor Man and Dying to Live in Palm Beach are two more for this category.

I read this last year and really liked it,a definite page turner.

ha ha ha I love the topic for this book! Like others, I read everything I was assigned in high school. We did have choices though, so I figured I would read a book that was on the list.

There are some truly hilarious parts of this memoir and there are some omg, are you kidding me parts - one of these is given away by the title of the memoir. If you like Alan Alda, you'll like this book.

I read this book some time ago and liked it. I'll have to check out the sequel.

This novel is about a serial killer in Russia. It is a great read. It's part of a trilogy, which I intend to read, but haven't yet.

I skimmed the linked list and can highly recommend the following: A Tale of Two Cities, The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, and Life of Pi. For this category I read Child 44, which was not on the list, but someone else recommended it above. If you like serial killer novels, it was really good.
